Review titled Very bad receptionist
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 August 2023
Several times I've had really bad experiences with the person who deals with calls / bookings at the gynae department. Very very rude, inconsiderate unhelpful remarks made, talks over you. I felt awful after the call. Not nice when people are already suffering with health issues.. I don't know how this person has the heart to talk to people the way she does. It really needs to be looked into. No one should deal with a human like this let alone a patient

Review titled Painful biopsy.
by Loufranxx - Posted on 12 July 2023
I have been under investigation for ages due to abnormal bleeding for months on end. Went for ultrasounds, smears etc. I also had a biopsy of my womb at Solihull women’s hospital, which was bearable. However, it came back I had endometrial/uterine polyps. I got sent to heartlands Gyno for a hysteroscopy. I found the doctor very blunt and not caring or reassuring. I wasn’t told I was having another biopsy at the time. They flushed the water into my tubes etc. and went in with the camera. I was watching it on the screen - well trying to. They said if it hurts too much say stop and they would stop. I cried and shouted for them to stop to which they said they were almost done. I could see the openings to my fallopian tubes. I was then told they would also like to take another biopsy whilst it was inside already about to take it. I had a biopsy before and had never felt pain like this. It’s left me curled over in agony for at least 5 hours. I do not trust in health professional to deal with my Gyno issues. I felt violated.

Review titled Amazing Midwife
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 August 2023
I was admitted to the hospital in April 2023, firstly based in the Induction suite and then delivery. The midwives I had in the induction suite and delivery were absolutely amazing. Both went above and beyond to ensure I was calm and comfortable. Both were so compassionate and understanding and did their best to make me feel at ease. Thank you so much for being so kind to me.

Review titled Unacceptable care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 June 2023
I was transferred from stoke hospital to have a c-section due to no beds being available at stoke hospital. However once at Birmingham womens they said they wouldn’t give me a section and we’re just going to monitor me. I was put on the ward room with 3 other women where one women was in advanced labour and the other 2 weren’t far behind. I was refused a room in my own until I had a panic attack. Once in my own room, I still needed to share a toilet and shower which wasn’t working. They then lost my paper work and all my scan photos, didn’t carry out routine urine samples daily or give me the correct medication. I also explained I’d been having bad headaches and problems with my vision they just brushed it off even as it got worse. The care I received while there was shocking. Once I transferred back to back to stoke they found I extremely bad UTI that should’ve picked upon if they had done the routine tests.

Review titled Great experience - anaesthetist amazing!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ellie Sibbald-Perkins - Posted on 25 April 2023
I had a very good experience on the day of my surgery at the hospital. Staff were really supportive of me as a young patient and made me feel at ease. The male anaesthetist I had was particularly amazing, I was so so scared and he really helped me through it all and respected what I was telling him. Must be one of the best in the business!

Review titled Poor care post c section
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by LC - Posted on 04 June 2024
Induction team all excellent Surgical team performing c section - excellent Recovery team- excellent Post op ward - poor. Even though a registered physiotherapist myself and fully understanding the need for movement post op and all associated complications not one person took on my concerns with feeling dizzy seriously. When I was told I could shower I asked to be accompanied there it would of taken them 20 seconds I was met with an awful tone from senior staff of get your husband to take you ( husband was not present) also I was dizzy and had a new baby screaming. So I had to leave baby with husband when he arrived later and tended to my own ted stockings and felt awful when I knew had I had a natural birth a midwife would have helped with all of that. I found the advice around feeding unhelpful and overly forceful and was thrown a pump and feeding team and the scaremongering started straight away when actually my new baby was just tired and went on to breast feed for a year no thanks to the advice I was given here, I think a lot of people would have given up there and then understandably but thankfully I had researched before and knew what to do. My husband and I were genuinely told to have lunch I had to walk to get it and carry my tray back, he wouldn’t be able to get it for me. I was dizzy and in so much pain I thought it was disgusting care. I felt I was rushed to leave and heard many nasty comments regarding my lack of movement and when I did feel safe to move and look in a mirror I saw I was yellow! A doctor asked if that was my normal colour and it was only then I was told I had lost blood and my levels were very low. I felt like the post of care was not there. Trust me I am extremely worried about the prospect of having to return to that ward if I need another section with next child. I really hope surgical delivery patients are actually cared for in future and not treated like a failure or total inconvenience. In other hospitals I’ve heard lovely stories about post op care for new parents but there as none here.
