  1. Review titled Wonderful care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Angela Bridge - Posted on 26 April 2024

Fast treatment in A&E and great care whilst with them waiting for a bed. Thorough examination to determine cause of condition. Moved to Ward 5 for care. Again wonderful care from experienced, caring and pleasant nurses. Doctors were clear in their diagnosis and treatment. I felt important to them and that they had my well being both mentally and physically as a priority.

  2. Review titled Angels and ministers of grace defend us!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Mike kenners - Posted on 09 May 2024

Dialed 111 who strongly advised me to take the ambulance that they had called. I did as advised, the ambulance drivers being most helpful. Not sure why ambulance drivers are there to keep us company for two hours after we arrive at hospital. Not their job! I was very glad they were there, because none of the staff bothered too much with me. Finally brought into a room, where I was ignored for as long as possible. I was then assaulted with a needle into the arm to take blood. Several weeks later I still have involuntary spasms. After blood pressure taken, lots of blood extracted from me, no doubts to feed nostrafu, and several hours later of no food, nothing really to drink, I was taken to a room with the air conditioning running. So on top of all the discomfort that I was in, I was now freezing cold as well. Hearing elderly people screaming " Please no, help me!!!* does make things a little disconcerting. We won't mention the discussion going on between the staff, as to why someone had gone missing, and turns out they were sent for an unnecessary X-ray, My advice to anybody in a&e, do not go to sleep, you may find extremities that you need, might go missing :) It turns out in the end, had someone come over to me and had a 10-minute chat, we would have worked out what the problem was.

  3. Review titled Professional and personal service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Graham Bird - Posted on 16 April 2024

Though I was not looking forward to going to A&E on a Saturday evening, my experience was entirely positive - staff were very friendly and supportive, and the treatment offered by the doctor in that department was very professional and effective. Overall, in spite of the pressures of their jobs, the whole team presented as calm, competent and cohesive - very impressive and a credit to the hospital and the wider NHS. Please pass on my thanks to all the team and to the attending doctor in particular.

  4. Review titled Fantastic Consultants

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Adam Nolan - Posted on 01 May 2024

Both Mr. H and Mr. R have looked after my eye surgery beautifully. They have given me so much more confidence. I am delighted. All the nursing and theatre staff deserve credit in the day surgery department. I could not have been looked after any better. The clinic staff where pre op and aftercare is carried out are all kind and friendly. My only complaint was the Dr I saw after the second surgery. I had never seen this woman before. I was invited into the room where I was rushed through an appointment. The woman didn’t look at my op-site or discuss my operations. When you have to book two hours or your own very precious time out. The least one should expect is to be told how the surgeons felt the operations had gone. She explained nothing. I think we exchanged less than 20 words. It does reflect on what the rest of the excellent team have done. Fortunately, the rest of my experience has been faultless. So please don’t take this as a criticism of the department. Just her. The rest of you - thank you. I am so grateful.

  5. Review titled First rate care.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michael Stephenson - Posted on 22 April 2024

My father, aged 99, was admitted to the ward after a couple of falls at home. He was cared for by a group of people whose approach was optimistic, loving and respectful. My sister and I were always made welcome and kept informed of all developments. We could not have been more delighted with all of the team. The afternoon before he died, Dad asked about going home. We told him this was unlikely at present. He immediately replied: No hurry, I'm very comfortable here. They are all lovely people.

  6. Review titled Patient centred care

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Admitted as emergency with Acute Urinary Retention. Felt very anxious. Staff on ward were helpful and reassuring, as were Registrar and Consultant when I saw them. Ward was clean and tidy and all staff were Aware of their duties and carried them out efficiently. Ward ran very smoothly.

  8. Review titled Could be dead for all I know

Rated 1 star out of 5

Hubby admitted 6pm. 36hrs later he is still waiting in a chair with extreme pain. I can't get through to anyone in the department, as nobody answers a phone. All i want is an update, so I can put my kids minds at rest that their dad's OK.

  9. Review titled Very poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 February 2024

I'm surprised more deaths due to poor quality service, understaffed and bad practice isn't happening. Spend 6 hours in a&e to be told I need bloods taking still and because no physical notes were made up to put in the handover box it was forgotten. Then told its another 6 to 8 hrs to see a doctor. Told staff were short as people not turned in. Staff only see patients for individual tasks instead of doing everything in one go like in the past. Doctor seemed lost or new as she kept asking nurses what todo. A@e could be streamlined to run better and seen patients in one hit saving multiple sittings with nurses and doctors. It's like since covid the hospitals are running on work to rule with no real urgency. If they where fined for every 30 min extra It took to wait tge hospitals would soon get you in and out
