  1. Review titled Minor injuries Unit - staff are lazy

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 August 2024

Took my partner in to be seen for an injury and we waited several hours. Everyone was being seen before her, especially the holiday makers / tourists they were given top priority over local people. The staff take half hour between patients before calling anyone else in to be seen and assessed. Absolutely ridiculous and we will never use this specific miu again. Red hot day, sat in a waiting room and then people walk in with appointments mostly tourists and they get seen in minutes. Joke

  2. Review titled Sewing machine needle right through his finger!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Deborah Davies - Posted on 18 July 2024

Thank you so much to the Bodmin MIU I wish I could leave names but the site says not to put names but L, S and I thank you I hope you know who I mean. We had the best care and experience and my son who had a sewing machine needle stuck in his finger through his nail and out the other side was so well cared for and we were given a referral too. Thank you so much you were all so caring and it was a very good experience.

  3. Review titled Great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Macdonald - Posted on 01 June 2024

Attended an urgent meeting at Bodmin MIU today. Very help helpful nurses who pointed me in the right direction. Once in the right place (Sdek?) I was cared for rapidly & ultimately discharged with an option of returning over the weekend if I needed to. Thank you to both nurses and the doctor involved, all of whom were charming and caring.

  5. Review titled Garner Ward nurses and carers

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Angela - Posted on 16 June 2024

The care given to my husband while he was in this ward could not be faulted, A wonderful caring team of doctors, nurses and carers. They took the time to keep me updated. I cannot imagine that any dementia care anywhere could be better than this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  6. Review titled Amazing friendly compassionate staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sharron Webber - Posted on 03 May 2024

From the minute I walked in the hospital from reception to triage to nurse to exray all staff were so friendly, happy, reassuring, clear information ,and even though I was in having a broken foot looked at we had many laughs, and I left with a boot which was all explained clearly on what happens next Would recommend over any other hospital.

  7. Review titled Extremely well looked after

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Pauline Avery - Posted on 28 May 2024

Bodmin MIU. From the Receptionist to the Medical & X-ray staff the service could not have been bettered. Being elderly & following a bad fall I was treated in the most caring & professional way & felt completely at ease throughout. Thank you to all concerned.

  8. Review titled Brilliant service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Wendy Gildersleve - Posted on 09 May 2024

I had horrendous tooth pain that was making me shaky and hot , and pain going up to my head . I was seen by a triage nurse , she went over and above to help me . She was sympathetic and caring , I had a tear because I was in so much pain . My dentist earlier in the day said they couldnt see me as no emergency appointments available . I knew I had an infection and just wanted some antibiotics, she tried every Avenue she could to help me . Although not resolved , the care and sympathy I was show. Was second to none . Please relay my thanks to her . I hope she recognises that this was her , and thank you !

  9. Review titled An excellent Phelbotomist

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by H Smith - Posted on 13 March 2024

I have to have regular blood tests for a chronic condition. It can take as many as three visits to my GP surgery to get one complete set of results, and it can be immensely trying just to get through on the 'phone, to book a test (or the extra tests because they have failed to ask for the right ones originally). I often leave looking and feeling like a pincushion where they sweep the needle and 'try my hands'. Achieving correct bloods had started to dominate my life and made me miserable. Thankfully, I discovered that there is a bookable online, often with appointments for the same or next day, in Bodmin CDC. I have now had bloods taken by the same Phlebotomist there twice and it is such a different experience to my GP surgery that I feel compelled to write in praise. It is a shame that his name cannot be mentioned here but he is punctual, kind and staggeringly efficient. He greets me warmly, hits a vein straightaway, is all ready to collect the correct bloods and ...that's it - I can forget about it. It probably sounds like a small thing but an excellent clinician when you have been subjected to such poor phlebotomy for so long, is a massive relief and I hope that his Superiors value him as much as I do!

  10. Review titled Phenomenal care, and incredibly clean. Very efficient

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Dominic Wilkes - Posted on 18 March 2024

I fell and injured my hand. I turned up, was seen instantly, by lovely staff. The Minor Injuries nurse who saw me, and the radiographer were just lovely people, carrying out their jobs with efficiency, dignity, friendliness and care. The whole place was spotless too! After care was also brilliant with a call on the Monday after visiting on the Saturday, with a follow-up conversation. NHS at its best. I cannot fault Bodmin. Thank you so much!
