I walked in at 6 o’clock being sat for 4 hours just to wait for my blood results was 3 hour wait on screen now 6 hours wait shocking service only for some women after 4 hours of me wasting my time to tell everyone nobody in this room is priority it’s ambulances only I am absolutely appalled and will not be paying my council this month I’ve just watched a women basically on her death bed go through 8 carers in 6 hours if that ain’t a waste of money and resources I really don’t know what is I am shocked the poor lack of attention these so called nurses and doctors are actually doing to help people other then putting more stress and pressure onto the whole community of people will suffer in pain instead due to your actions

I recently attended CRH with my partner. He was seen immediately on arrival and the care he received was amazing. Particularly the nurses and doctors in HDU and ward 2C.

Consultant - Caring, kind and compassionate. Knowledgeable and skilled. Couldn't have wished for better Ward staff - just amazing! Cannot fault a single one of them for everything they did taking care of me. Theatre staff - again....amazing! Super friendly , kind and put me at ease. There will always be struggles with the NHS but this team of people are second to none!

  5. Review titled Unpleasant and unclean

Rated 1 star out of 5

Arrived A&E at 8pm seen 1 cleaner she half swept the floor in the corridor. The waiting area is filthy with used tissues and a sick bowl with vomit in just left. Spilages on the slot were not cleaned, though a triage nurse did put 2 bed ppada to cover it. Coz I’m sure the NHS has money to waste. Children were being medicated the the corridor outside the waiting are and there is no privacy. You either a major or your not! It doesn’t seem to matter if you’re contagious or not. Put all the peasants in the waiting area together it’s inhumane. One young lady took her father home because he was so poorly and no one was trying to help her care for him. The waiting times just keep going up yet the number of people in the department have gone down. It’s a shambles!

  6. Review titled Brilliant National Health

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My wife is 76. We have been together since she was 16. To me she is still 16. She suffered from severe breathing difficulties for three weeks. Our doctor sent us to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary Accident and Emergency. We went through the process. A doctor who sent her for an X-ray. Fluid on the lungs. He sent her for a cat-scan to discover the severity. It was severe. She was immediately put onto oxygen and had to be transferred to Calderdale Hospital, but first it was imperative they start draining the fluid. A needle into the right lung, a tube into a plastic container and within an hour they had drained two litres. That's three and a half pints. By this time it was 10 in the evening. An ambulance transferred her in the early hours, still taking oxygen and still attached to the container. The paramedics were amazed at the quantity. Admitted to Ward 2b for critical assessment at 2am and greeted with a cup of tea by a smiling nurse. Next day still on oxygen and pumped full of antibiotics. A new container was fitted and another quarter litre of fluid removed. By now she could walk to the loo carrying the container: she called it her designer handbag. A consultant explained she had had pneumonia as well as fluid on the lungs. More x-rays and another scan and discharged home Thursday evening. She had been fearful of what the original scan might find, dreading the possibility of something fatal: this nearly had been. We have relatives who have died from fluid on the lungs. The staff at both hospitals were amazing. They were overworked but maintained a smile, empathy and compassion. The paramedics were equally great. Grateful thanks to the staff on Wards 2b and 5d at Calderdale. They were wonderful. Isn't it time the medical staff were paid what they are worth? That real money is spent on hospitals? We found the National Health Service working at full stretch is still magnificent because of the spirit, skill and care of its staff. These are professionals who care for people. Unlike the entrepreneurs who cashed in on Covid by making millions from unusable personal protective equipment in a scandalous government scheme that became a scam. Appreciate and protect the National Health Service.

Calderdale royal hospital You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves Especially your nurses Promising my 16 year old son since yesterday afternoon that before being transferred to Huddersfield to undergo a serious operation on his arm He would be given morphine due to the severity of the injury Only for transport to arrive at 7.00am this morning and the only thing offered to him was 2 paracetamol Leaving my 16 year boy screaming In agony

  9. Review titled A&E Attendance Today

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Eleanor - Posted on 05 January 2024

Unfortunately I am unable to leave the name of the actual staff who saw my daughter today but the reception staff, female triage nurse, male ANP and the two ladies who cleaned and glued my daughters head wound were all fantastic. Really friendly, reassuring and put myself, my husband and daughter at ease. Thankyou so much for your care!

  10. Review titled Grateful thanks to an insightful consultant and team

    by septemberjs98 - Posted on 24 October 2023

Transferred from A&E with breathing difficulties. Had previously been to two A&E depts in the north whilst on holiday. Calderdale transferred me to medical assessment ward. They were just about to discharge me, thinking it was just my breathing pattern that was out of sync. The consultant I spoke to said just before u go let’s just check for blood clots. I will be forever in his debt, due to his diligence and I guess experience they found numerous blood clots on my lungs. I write to pass on my grateful thanks for his insight and the team that assisted me to getting to the stage where I was discharged with tablets etc. [Very happy with 'Staff attitude'] [Very happy with 'Staff skills']
