  1. Review titled Compassionate care when I lost my baby

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 April 2023

Very kind and compassionate care from the midwives when I lost my baby. They talked me through everything they were doing to me and why, they asked me for permission to touch my baby and move him and cut his cord. They talked me through holding my baby and seeing my baby when I was ready. They offer funeral care and helped when I chose a private funeral. I was still allowed to see my baby when I left the hospital and they set up a quite and respectful room for me to spend time with him.

I attended the endoscopy clinic yesterday 7/3/2023 i was really apprehensive with the tales iv,e heard about this procedure, i needn't have worried, the whole team were brilliant, they were all friendly , helpfull and reassuring. The procedure was carried out both professionally and painlessly and i'd have no fear of having it done again. Thanks to all concerned.

  3. Review titled Horrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Visited the A&E department at Calderdale hospital but was kept waiting for over 5 hours to see a doctor. When I asked for an updated after 5 hours, all I was told is a doctor hasn’t been assigned. Patient is in pain, busted their head open but please wait on some horrible chairs for over 5 hours. If your hurt yourself just stay at home that way you can stay warm and rest

  4. Review titled 5 Star +++

Rated 5 stars out of 5

March 13th visited Calderdale for biopsy, from the start with reception the nurse who took my blood then surgery staff, followed by nurse who kindly gave me a drink and took me to the lift, I was well looked after and all the staff were very helpful to a senior citizen, also a first class procedure by the consultant. Well done Calderdale for making my visit stress free.

  5. Review titled Highly professional and caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Susan Sigsworth - Posted on 21 February 2023

I was welcomed into a calm, quiet ward with a cup of tea and oodles of kindness. Everyone who came along to ask the necessary questions or to take blood pressure etc treated me with respect and understanding, and I was encouraged to ask anything I wanted. When the time came for my angiogram the theatre staff introduced themselves and again were very reassuring about the procedure. I really appreciated being able to choose music, which immediately helped me to relax and float away, so I was happy to leave all the responsibility to the team. Nothing was too painful to cope with, and everything was explained before it was done. Back on the ward there was another cup of tea and even a sandwich. I stayed there for a further couple of hours while results and recommendations were explained, blood pressure and heartbeat regularly taken. The staff nurse went through the tablet regime again before I left. I need to return soon to have a stent inserted, but after this experience, I'm no longer worried about that and will be happy to see everyone there again.

  6. Review titled Fantastic service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Brought my father in law to CRH A&E this week and was delighted by the swift and kind service provided to him. Undoubtedly you saved his life and the family is indescribably grateful. Everything you did was efficient and caring. The attention to detail impressive and the clear information given to us and dad in ways he could understand even in his distress was excellent. As a retired nurse with over 36 years in the NHS its still astounding to me how impressive the service is even in the peak of demands and pressures. Well done all and thank you.

I took my daughter to A&E last night with severe abdominal pain. She was seen blood tests and scans done. The doctor was excellent and indeed the whole department was exceptionally well run. All staff were professional and polite. Thankyou Calderdale

  8. Review titled Incompetence

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 February 2023

Original appt was on 27 Feb which was changed to 20 Feb. Arrived for appointment on time. Having waited for 45 minutes past the appointment time I spoke to the receptionist who then went in to consultation room. She returned to tell me 'the machine has broken' and I would have to come back, the next appointment being in March. Why did it take 45 minutes to let me know the machine was broken? Why should I have to wait until March after the original appointment had already been changed? Frankly, I don't believe what I was told, utter shambles

From arriving at A&E after an accident with a horse, the care and service I received was wonderful. Staff were kind, caring and I was extremely well looked after. A young doctor even found time to make myself and my husband a cup of tea while we were awaiting CT scan results. Thankyou all concerned

I have attended the hospital for diagnostic scans recently on several occasions and the service and staff have been helpful and professional every time. The sunday scan service is a great idea. Keep up the good work.
