  1. Review titled Incredible care and treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Jane C M - Posted on 23 October 2024

I cannot fault the amazing treatment and care I experienced recently as a day case. Every member of staff without fail introduced themselves to me, checked I was okay, explained everything slowly and carefully, supported me and following the procedure continued to check in showing compassion and full attention. Nothing was too much for any of the team, they worked methodically and without fuss, were cheerful and supportive of each other. I have never really needed to call on the services of the NHS much, but my experience last week was incredible, the professionalism and warmth of the staff made me feel relaxed during what was a rather scary time and I think you are all amazing. A massive thank you for being so lovely.

I was admitted for surgery to fix an umbilical hernia. Right from the start treatment was fabulous…like private…and all staff were wonderful. The surgeon, nurses, ancillary…a really great experience for which many many thanks.

  3. Review titled Incredible service! Thank you!!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rachel - Posted on 20 July 2024

I have received the most incredible speedy service after finding a lump in my breast. Not only was my experience in the Breast screening unit just brilliant, my gp and local surgery and out of hours gp were all just totally amazing. It's a very nerve wracking time finding any new lump but the speed in which I was seen and how thorough everything was was just incredible. To everyone working in these units and local surgeries, thank you!! You're all amazing when you have the hardest job. Thank you for the reassurances, the speed, the thoroughness of each appointment, the care and attention at a very scary time for anyone walking through the doors. Thank you! Thank you!

  4. Review titled Rude manner

Rated 1 star out of 5

Having skin issues myself I have always had good experiences with dermatology but the phone conversation I just had trying to rearrange an appointment for my daughter was borderline rude and unprofessional. Her first appointment was made during her GCSE exams so we called and it was rearranged for just before. This has been cancelled and rearranged for again during her Exams so I called yesterday to rearrange. I was told the person was on a call and would call back. I never received a call however they said they left a voicemail ( I do not have an answer machine service so I'm unsure where this was left). I called again today to politely explain that she couldn't do the date they set due to it being in Exam month. I was told HE had checked himself and he had rearranged it for a couple of days after exams finished as there are no exams. I checked the diary and there is still important things happening in school that day that she cannot miss so I said she couldn't do that date. I was met with a rude "why can't you do that date?" not that I should have to explain but I did. I was then huffed at and told he would have to search as we have cancelled quite a few appointments. I said we had not and that the hospital keeps cancelling to have him point out that I cancelled the first one..which I did not-i rearranged the date they sent out as she couldn't do it. He then continued to point out that meant I have cancelled things my end too. I realised I was dealing with a rude person and waited for him to just give me a new appointment date. He came back with September ( annoying she has to wait so long after their cancellation but understandable.). He also seemed to be quite smug that we would wait now and that we would go to a different hospital. I have no issue with the appointment being cancelled by them and no issue waiting for a new one-my issue is the rudeness of the doctor?nurse I spoke to. Couldn't tell you who it was or what his job is as he didn't bother to tell me

Collected chemo meds today and sadly yet again prescription is missing meds. Now having to deal with the hospital bureaucracy and poor communication channels to resolve this

  7. Review titled Superb team fantastic treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I’ve been a patient since The end of 2022 with a newly diagnosed condition which I knew nothing about. Yesterday I turned up for an appointment feeling anxious and in a low mood given my symptoms. The nurse was just lovely. She took her time, explained things, changed the settings on my machine remotely, discussed other issues, and never once rushed me, even though she’d over run on her time with me. I cannot praise the team or thank them enough. Everyone provides such a stellar service. Thank you. I left much more hopeful than when I arrived.

I have recently been treated by the oncology team at the Churchill and I cannot thank them enough. The professionalism and caring attitude of everyone that I met along the way shone through in every case, making me feel that I was in good hands from start to finish, in what has been an extremely difficult period in my life.
