  1. Review titled Great staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I bought my mother to the hospital for a blood test - this usually involves nurses unable to find a vein .which usually means pain and discomfort. Not this day .The nurse was gentle and found a vein no problem. She was delightful.

Thank you for taking the time to express your feedback on your mother's recent phlebotomy experience at Louth Path Lab. I am glad to hear you found the staff caring and delightful. I am also pleased that the phlebotomist made it a comforting experience for your mother given that she usually encounters pain and discomfort. I will pass on your feedback to the staff on duty last week. Thank you. Kind regards. Louise

Today I attended for a eye test which concluded with a request to make an appointment with the phlebotomy dept. for a blood test for the following day, as requested by the optician. After 5 phone calls I eventually got through to the appointment dept. and was told that dept. does not make appointments. I am a loss

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback following your experience at Louth hospital and enabling us to make a change to help rectify this situation. Usually if we know a Doctor has requested blood tests my staff are aware after 4pm that these cannot be undertaken so they usually advise the patient to contact the hospital the next day and ask for the path lab. It appears this message may not have been given to the patient and we sincerely apologise for this. As a result of this feedback we will be introducing some cards which will be given to patients after 4pm advising them of the number to contact to arrange for their bloods to be taken. Doctors will be made aware they need to give these to patients after 4pm or If they cannot attend for their test on the day. Hopefully this will make it clearer for patients of who to contact. Many thanks Heather Clarke

  4. Review titled call back

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Amanda Owen - Posted on 05 December 2022

when told to come back the next day, and the dept you visit says all is clear, but you have to go back to the urgent care for them to review results, there has got to be a better way than waiting 3.5 hours for them to review the results and basically see your GP. as it only took a couple of minutes to do that

  5. Review titled Very Dissapointed

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Peter Downes - Posted on 29 August 2022

Visited on saturday 26-08-22 after being involved in a road traffic accident. Asked to be checked over as i was feeling pain and abrasions on various parts of my body. Spoke to the receptionist and nurse but was told to go to Grimsby a&e and no offer to be checked over, surely that's the purpose of the utc so why was i turned away when i needed attention especially as i'm 70 years old . It should do what is on the site,Urgent Treatment Centre.
