Dear Ali Many thanks for taking the time to feedback about the local 111 service. It was great to see how pleased you were with the service that was provided I'm sorry to advise that our hospital does not manage or commission the 111 or out our hours / emergency GP service; but I can offer you some contact details for the provider of this service. Review titled Absolute waste of time
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Nikolas Wilson - Posted on 19 February 2024
Went to minor injuries as directed by my doctor for something in my eye. I am in discomfort with something stuck to my eyeball. Am told to wait be about an hr .The waiting room literally emptied and refilled in 3 hrs that I sat there while people came and where seen after 15 mins of waiting while I sat there for hrs. Was told some are prioritised depending on what is wrong etc. no this is not acceptable I understand some prioritising but not to the extent that some wait 3 4 hrs while others are seen in 10 to 15 mins. I literally could have sat there all day without being seen as I was obviously not any kind of priority.

Dear Mr Wilson Many thanks for taking the time to post your review. I was most sorry that you experienced a long wait to be seen with an injured eye. I have been advised that you also contacted PALS directly and your concerns were looked after. Thank you again for taking the time to contact PALS. I hope your experience of attending our MIU (Minor Injury Unit) will not stop you using the service again in the future. Dear Patient Many thanks for your feedback. Our Hospital does not manage or commission (pay for) the x-ray department based at Doddington Community Hospital. I have passed your feedback across to the PALS office at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust / Peterborough City (PCH) and Stamford Hospitals. Review titled A great facility that is so helpful.

Everyone was efficient and pleasant. Although they could not treat me because of protocols, I felt looked after and signposted in the right direction which did result in my being treated within 2 hours of attending Doddington Urgent Care. It is a shame that only under 65’s can be seen here, perhaps a similar set up for over 65’s and over would help ease pressure on A/E and hospital admissions.

Dear Nicky Thank you for your positive words. I think there may have been a mis-communication regarding what care our MIU's provide. The only group of patients that can't be treated are those that are under two years of age. Link to our MIU service - https://www.cpft.nhs.uk/service-detail/service/minor-injury-units-87/ Please feel free to contact us directly and we can ask our MiU manager to assist. I had had a fall, ( on a road) and cut my knee and hand, I called into Doddington, minor injuries unit, on the way home from work, Receptionist friendly, explained it well, advised approx waiting time, It was 90 minutes from arrival to departure ( I have waited at Cambridge A&E for over 6 hours once) seen by Nikki and Jo, patched me up well, both very friendly and approachable, and ery pleased that didn't have to have stitches

My daughter visited the urgent care centre after speaking to 111 and given a time to go along to be seen. She was seen swiftly and given the best of care. She was treated with such kindness and care by the staff. Staff then referred her for further help and managed to get her appointment within a few days. Well done Doddington Hospital!
