Review titled Grateful thanks for kindness and patience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Louise Emery - Posted on 22 February 2023
I would just like to thank the surgeon who carried out my cataract operation on Monday, the 20th of February 2023, although I was the last one on the morning list and, in fact, the surgeon was actually running late by the time my operation was completed, he was extremely kind and patient with me as I was a very nervous patient. His reassurance and kindness helped me enormously, and I just wanted to make sure that I thanked him. For obvious reasons, there is no direct contact so this is the best I can do. Kind regards

Review titled Absolutely Shocking
Rated 1 star out of 5

5 people waiting in a&e and a 7 hour wait to see a doctor. We was sat in front of an old man who had to call an ambulance as he was suffering to breathe. He went to the desk and asked how long it would be as he was getting worser and shaking again struggling to breathe and she told him he would have to wait “he called the ambulance for a reason” and he is still suffering to breathe no acknowledgement from reception/nurses/doctors. I am absolutely appalled by this experience and what iv seen and am now currently witnessing. Sat in Doncaster a&e now and the way the patients are getting treated are absolutely disgusting. I will not be returning back to this hospital after what iv seen. In the a&e department it was absolutely filthy no cleaners or anything pop bottles pop blood all over the floor.

Review titled Amazing care when going for blood test.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 January 2023
I am needle phobic and had an unexpected blood test suggested by a doctor. The lovely phlebotomists who took my blood were considerate, patient and did everything they could to help me have my test taken.. The easiest blood test I've ever had, they've more than just been great at their jobs, they've helped with my phobia going forward! They were busy but really took the time with me and it was very much appreciated!

Review titled Horrendous attitudes in ED
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 January 2023
I have never been spoken down to so much by ED staff all of whom were patronising and incredibly arrogant. As I approach them with a polite professional manner I expect the same in return. It’s wasn’t just the hospital staff who were rude and unhelpful the ambulance staff were also completely unhelpful and refused to give the door code meaning we could not access hospital wheelchairs. Once inside the staff were immediately on the defensive not wanting to listen to any information but presuming the patient could go into the waiting room. The “handover” was incredibly hostile with information being offered but a distinct lack of interest or care and picking at details. We all know hospital EDs are stretched but staff taking it out on other staff does not help. Thank goodness this is not my local ED. All the staff need to have time off to decompress and come back when and if they can be courteous and polite.

Review titled Appalling care attitude Secretary Paediactrics
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 January 2023
A really awful experience today by a secretary , told to visit first thing and go to AE reception and that Childrens ward was expecting us and any problems call her. We are under a consultant already who is very good. Turns out this was incorrect information and the lady on the phone was the staff of another consultant and was doing us a favour,? so we spent an hour getting there presented at AE reception to be greeting by a hostile late who was angry faced before we opened our mouths. SHe said we can't skip the queue and go to Acute ward !! I said the consultant had emailed his sectretary and told us to do this and a couple of tests he wanted doing and they were waiting for us. This was all incorrect it seems the sectretary misinterpreted this and his other sectretary on the phone was extremely rude and unkind and said did we think you can call and get to see someone the same day and they don't do a drop in clinic ! all we called for was for bloods to be done as 2 weeks over due and nobody had called or written to us for my daughter to go and she was supposed to be on coeliac full gluten for 4 weeks max and it was 6 weeks now and she was in pain. I did not ask to see anyone she told us to do this we asked about blood test delay. I will put in a complaint as had enough of these non qualified rude staff speaking to me like something on the floor when actually on this occasion they had made a huge mistake ! she wanted me to sit in AE and go through a whole booking in and triage etc for something already done when already under someone when we just needed bloods !!! AE is for urgent cases and life threatening this is where the system is broken, staff who think they are Doctors making decisions snaggin up AE and all they had to do was say sorry !! but oh no when I was polite and called them up on it she used the I was being rude card . But actually signs all over sayiong not to be rude and abusive to staff but I think you need to start putting them up for your own staff being passive aggresive and abusive to patients even when they have made a huge error. A sorry goes a long way, and if unsure ask a manager or senior staff if you are not sure, don't send people to AE for bloods when already on the system . A complaint will have to go in and please start to monitor how your staff are speaking to the public. It was a total disgrace today.

Had to take my mother to the mobile scanner at Mexborough Montague Hospital today. At 90 years of age she is fragile and apprehensive. The staff was extremely helpful and kind and treated her with exceptional care. Thank you.

Review titled Caring and compassionate.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anne Penman - Posted on 21 January 2023
Spent Thursday 19th January in the red zone with my husband during a whole night shift. The three staff in there were working under great pressure with an incredible work load . Despite the pressures they were kind compassionate and caring. They are a credit to your department.
