  1. Review titled A better way

Rated 1 star out of 5

There must be a better way to run the respiratory consultation service than once a week. The Doctor told my wife she's got lung cancer after a Bronchoscopy and we'll be in-touch, biopsy result will be in 2 weeks. It will be a month before we know what's happening. All the time she's suffering and getting worse and has been told to take paracetamol. We are going out of our mind with worry. She can only find anything out on a Tuesday, and if she isn't discussed then it'll be another week.

  2. Review titled Perfect

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Outstanding. Minimal waiting times. All staff were friendly but also very professional. The consultant was incredibly thorough. He took his time to explain what had happened, why it happened, alternate treatment options and what they would involve. The treatment was conducted the very same day. Subsequently new medications were given and a follow up plan arranged. I was very happy with the service and I would absolutely recommend the DRI ENT department. Thank you.

  3. Review titled Thoroughly satisfied, high praise

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Every staff member from reception to consultant were kind and friendly but still very efficient and professional. Waiting time was very reasonable. The area was very clean. Medical staff took the time they needed to run full tests, develop an immediate strategy and treatment plan and also provide a post-emergency room path forward including next day referrals to other hospital departments for continued treatment. Outstanding service, my most sincere thanks to Doncaster Emergency department.

  4. Review titled Highly Professional

My husband attended for a CT scan today ant 12.20pm and was so impressed by the professional, friendly and efficient staff he encountered. He has been recently for the same investigation which unfortunately they couldn’t do and the technicians remembered him and were very welcoming. He was in and out in no time due to the efficiency of the staff. Such a good experience and such a credit to the NHS.

My husband was first admitted to A&E Doncaster Royal Imfirmary, unfortunately wrongly discharged then had to be readmitted via Bassettlaw Hospital to the stroke ward at Doncaster were here the staff were amazing my husband remained in the hospital for 2 weeks and eventually was discharged from ward 17, one nurse stood out above and beyond, unfortunately i can not name him ,i really hope more trainee nurses that come through the system are like him nothing was too much trouble ,he loves his work and that impacted on my husband, who remembers, his compassion on the ward and through to discharge.

  7. Review titled Absolutely Disgusting a&e

Rated 1 star out of 5

Never in my life have I experienced anything like this a&e. Filthy, Stunk & hours waiting. Sent by 111 to DRI, we are from the Selby area but was advised York was at capacity. On arrival lovely receptionist, poorly family member with extremely high blood pressure who hasn’t visited an a&e in 22 years, left in a waiting area for 6 hours plus, it was boiling and was filthy, took over 3 hours of waiting before any water or juice was put out for people waiting & why just why do they take your observations at the front main reception desk for all to hear in the waiting area. Get the place cleaned up and sort the seating arrangements out in the waiting area. Plastic, uncomfortable chairs to sit on.

  8. Review titled A huge thank you.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Storm Allen - Posted on 30 August 2024

A huge thank you to all the Doncaster Royal Infirmary staff who cared for me, my partner and my baby. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff who cared for me, my partner and my baby during my recent labour journey of my precious son. From start to finish I was cared for by such amazing teams. I honestly feel so lucky to have been cared for by such amazing teams. Unfortunately I did not manage to catch many of their names, and a few I did I didn’t get chance to write down and have sadly forgotten but I am hoping my details bring up their information so my gratitude can be passed on if possible. My son’s date of birth is 16-07-24 and my name is Storm Allen. From the midwives to the surgeons to the theatre staff to the people who took my food order choices , every single staff member I came across went above and beyond to make me feel safe, informed, and as comfortable as possible regarding the circumstances. They offered me constant reassurance during a quite worrying time. They offered me really useful and helpful tips such as breastfeeding methods and pain relief ideas. They offered me extensive knowledge and explanations in a clear way and I understood so I was able to make the best decisions for my current circumstances. They offered me and also my partner such care and compassion. They went above and beyond to ensure we was all as comfortable as possible. As both of us are first time parents they really did make our experience such as positive one, even in times of intense pain and worry which really did mean so much to us and go along way. We feel so lucky and so blessed to have come across such amazing people during such an important and special time in our lives and we will be forever grateful for you all. Thank you for everything, Kindest Regards Storm Allen, partner & baby Sonny.

  10. Review titled Unacceptable performance

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Paul Winpenny - Posted on 24 July 2024

We attended the A&E on a Tuesday evening at ten o’clock, we finally got to see a doctor at five in the morning. The place is also filthy. With a pile of soggy rubbish left in the middle of the waiting room the entire eight hours we were there. This while staff sat behind desks at many points doing nothing. This is not a lack of funding problem, it is quite simply down to poor management at department and overall management levels.
