  1. Review titled Fantastic staff and service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Gorham - Posted on 07 June 2024

I attended cardiology department today for what I thought was a simple, minor procedure. On arrival I was greeted by a nurse, shown to a bed which already had my name above it, given theatre clothing to change into, blood pressure and pulse taken. Then taken to the theatre and staff there were absolutely brilliant, helped me on to the bed, the surgeon then performed the procedure, and told me everything he was doing before he did it, I was comfortable and felt no discomfort what so ever. I was then taken back to the ward, blood pressure checked again, and was told I could go home at any point. My only failing was I did not get any names of the ward staff, the theatre staff, or even the surgeon, so I cannot thank them all by name. But, what a great experience, certainly made me feel at ease. Thank you to all of you

  2. Review titled Devoted Staff Working Under Great Pressure

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rodney King - Posted on 16 May 2024

I was transported to the EDGH A&E by ambulance following a nasty fall in Easbourne town centre which badly injured my face. After being proptly triaged, there was as very long wait for treatment whchc was hardly surprising with over 30 other patients in the main waiting room! My eventual treatment was performed by a young dedicated junior doctor, (in her second foundation year, who provided an outstanding service by taking care of every need and keeping me informed about progress of a susequent CT scan. We really must support these junior doctors and not lose them as a result of government policies.

  3. Review titled Positive experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sarah Parsons - Posted on 20 May 2024

My mum was admitted to A and E due to atrial fibrillation. She was immediately seen to and received such personal and attentive care. They all went above their regular jobs to make her feel comfortable and safe. One staff member in particular was amazing and developed a lovely rapport with her to make her feel comfortable, we are very grateful to him. There is huge pressure on the nhs and I did not think we would get such great care but I could not have faulted it.

  5. Review titled Great hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Harry seddon - Posted on 13 May 2024

I was on holiday in Eastbourne for several days and come from southport. I had a urostomy 12 years ago and unfortunately the stoma bags I had with me were faulty and leaking. Tried everywhere for help to no avail and ended up at A & E at 10pm. Was astounded at the kindness and consideration shown to me especially from the young lady doctor who saw me. She managed to obtain new bags for me and even cut them to size and sent us off with a supply. I was back at our hotel by 11.30 and able to continue our first holiday in 5 years. I can't thank Eastbourne Hospital and the doctor who treated me enough. Just wish it was near us. The Eastbourne population are very, very lucky!!!

  6. Review titled From my arrival at A and E at 5am this morning

by Sue Wallace - Posted on 26 May 2024

I could not have asked for better treatment. Every member of staff from cleaner to porter to HCAs, nurses and doctors could not have been kinder or more professional. The treatment and repetition of “obs” was gold standard. Every step was explained to me putting me at ease. I cannot thank the night shift and the day shift enough. If CQC were observing, their rating would have to have been “outstanding “. I hope this is passed onto all staff.

My 94 year old mother was recently admitted to Frailty ward. The care she received there was fantastic and the communication from the medical and nursing teams was exceptional. We thought she would die, but you saved her. The NHS at its best!

Dear Janice, We are sorry that you endured a long waiting time when you recently attended the Emergency Department, as this is not what we would wish. This is unfortunately unavoidable on occasion due to the volume of patients attending for a wide range of illness/injuries. We were however pleased to hear that all the staff you encountered demonstrated the Trust values by being polite and helpful in their interactions with you.

  9. Review titled A wonderful hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Josephine - Posted on 22 April 2024

When I entered the hospital a person gave me directions and a welcome with a big smile . I went to the imaging dept for X-rays The lady in reception was very welcoming I didn’t have to wait beyond 5 mins and had my x rays early The X-ray practitioners were really kind and reassuring. On the second occasion I had MRI scans The practitioners in this dept were also really kind and reassuring . Even in the cafe later the staff were delightful. Many thanks to everyone. Much appreciated.
