    I have had 2 cataract operations recently. Treatment and care was excellent. The kindness and considerstion of all staff was most reassuring.

    I arrived at main reception for Edgware Community Hospital in plenty of time for my first appointment with the Diabetes Clinic. The staff member on reception could not tell me where to go and made no effort to find out where I needed to go. She seemed completely disinterested and would not help me. I had to search all the outpatient departments until I found a sign which was a long way from reception. I could have missed this important appointment that I had waited 6 months for. Luckily I allowed lots of extra time but I really think the lady on reception at 11.00 17/7/24 should not be in this role or needs a lot of training. Surely her role is to help members of the public to get to their appointments. She made a terrible impression. Better signage at the main entrance would help to especially if staff members are going to be so unhelpful. I was shocked. I haven’t encountered this at Barnet or Hampstead Royal Free hospitals where receptionists are really good.

    I had insect bites which resulted in very large blisters, one over an inch in diameter. On Tuesday 30/07/24 I went to the walk in centre around 15:30 and was seen by the triage nurse almost instantly. She prescribed antibiotics. So far, so good. I asked if she would pierce the blister to remove pressure and she told me that they don't deroof blisters at the walk-in centre. If it gets worse then go to A & E. So I left, in and out within 15 minutes - yipee! The next day, Weds 31/07/24, I had to go back to the walk-in centre as the largest blister had burst of it's own accord. This time I arrived around 16:45 and there was a queue. Nevertheless I was seen by triage within 20 mins, this different nurse (advanced practitioner) said to go back to wait and we will deroof your blister. I waited, less than an hour, and another wonderful nurse deroofed 2 blisters, which relieved the pressure and made me so much more comfortable. So the nurse I saw in triage on Weds 30/07 needs to know that Edgware Community Hospital does deroof blisters. Apart from that, I experienced a great service.

    I go here because blood tests I occasionally have are always painless. Usually minimal waiting time and lovely staff, good facilities. On the downside there is a dangerous dog which is walked on the grounds and sadly I felt threatened by the female owner. So I'd be very wary on my next future visit

    By accident I was in Edgware Community Hospital 2 hours before I had a booking for a blood test. I asked in Outpatients A whether it was possible to have the sampling done earlier than the appointed time. The receptionist booked me in but cautioned that I would possibly have a long wait. I was called after a short wait of about 10 minutes. The phebotomist, operating in bay 4, was excellent; very efficient and professional. I hardly felt the needle going in. I am very happy with the care that I received.

    This ophthalmic department, while always busy. Is well organised and staffed by lovely, helpful professional. The female optometrist I saw at the end of the morning was encouraging and very helpful. Thorough in her feedback.

    1. Please highlight in a letter that patients might need to wait up to 4 hours. As a neurodivergent person I overlooked this part and depends on the situation it can cause some problem. 2. At the reception area, please clarify where you suppose to queue for Eye clinic, where Ear and etc. I got shouted because I didn't get straight away so as many other people. Overall I had a good experience, and a doctor was friendly and knowledgeable with a clear communication.

    I am drug user I just referred from Gp to this hospital to stop it’s been more than 6 months no one give me appointment just once gave appointment and when I arrived there they said Dr left the hospital will give you another appointment and it’s been more than 6 months and never give me appointment I can’t contact this rubbish hospital no one answer the phone just worse ever service for some one really need help to stop drug

  10. Review titled The centre is excellent! All the staff are brilliant.

    I woke up one morning and noticed that my lip had dropped. I had a stroke in November 2023. I came to the Rehab centre soon after. The centre is excellent! All the staff are brilliant with their jobs that they have to do and are so caring.
