  1. Review titled Great people at a great hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended this morning for an x-ray and I also had an issue with not being able to find the dept I was looking for another problem. After numerous telephone calls prior to my visit and not being able to get the right people/ service I asked the Fareham Community hospital receptionist for help. She was very patient with my request and was so helpful getting me to the right information and filling in an email to the department for me. This was amazing service and I would like to thank her for enabling me to be relaxed in the knowledge that the right dept and right people have been notified of my problem. This means the world to me as I haven't been able to rest trying to get the right dept. The staff at this hospital go up and beyond to help and are pleasent, efficient and knowledgeable. The clinical receptionist at this hospital deserves to be told how helpful she was.

  2. Review titled Brusque and unprofessional

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Susan Martin - Posted on 18 May 2024

I had an appointment for a blood test at fareham community hospital on 15 May. I arrived early but had forgotten my form so was sent away. The attitude of the health professional I saw was very brusque, she seemed angry that I was there at all and told me that the fareham community hospital clinic is not for gp referrals. It was entirely my fault that I had forgotten my form, and I re-booked an appointment for Friday 17 May. I saw the same health professional and his time I was greeted with an accusation that I had failed to attend my appointment on 15 May and, once again, that gp referrals were not wanted at the clinic. If this is the case why was I advised to arrange my blood test at the clinic? My surgery was unable to do it until June and the test was urgent. The health professional (whose name I don't know), also told me what a tight schedule she was on and how she had to answer to someone above her. Her attitude throughout both appointments was unfriendly and unwelcoming, she seemed resentful that she had to be there at all. I was really surprised to come across such an unprofessional attitude and found the whole experience upsetting. The patients who attend the clinic are often poorly and going through difficult health challenges and they last thing we need is to be met with such this kind of attitude. A friendly smile costs nothing and takes less time than a tirade of moans and complaints.
