  1. Review titled Thank you!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by David P - Posted on 04 October 2022

Did a stupid thing with a carving knife and want to express my gratitude for the care received in A&E, especially to Doc who managed the wound but also to the whole team. You should be very proud of the service you provide under challenging circumstances. Thank you!! David

  2. Review titled No way on telephone or online to contact

Rated 1 star out of 5

by HUGO ANSON - Posted on 05 September 2022

Tomorrow we have an appointment that we need to confirm. We have rung outpatients appointments phone line. The queuing system said we were number 35 in the queue. An hour later it said we were number 25 in the queue. Another hour and we were number 14 in the queue. Another hour and position in the queue is 5. (How many people work answering the phones and how long do they take with each call??) We used another line to contact the department (while leaving the first on hold) and spoke to four answer phones of different secretaries. We tried to call PALS. No answer. We have emailed PALS, no answer. It looks like we will need to get in the car and drive 30 minutes, park in the hospital car park, go into the department.... at which they will say they have to talk to the patient.... who can easily phone but not easily travel today. Is this a good way to run a professional organisation?

Dear Hugo, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave your feedback – and please accept my apologies for having taken so long to respond and acknowledge it. Please also accept my sincere apologies on behalf of the Trust for the issues you encountered on the telephone. I know this will have no effect on your personal experience but please be reassured that the matter of patients and families/carers issues with the phone lines is a live topic for the Board and urgent steps are being taken to improve the situation. 3. Review titled Professionalism and dedicated attention

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by David Clements - Posted on 07 February 2023

From the early morning emergency call for an ambulance to my discharge five days later all the staff from the ambulance crew through the busy doctors and nurses in the A&E department and the short stay Acute Medicine wards and the ladies or gents who served my delicious meals or cleaned my private room made my stay in your hospital a far pleasanter experience than I anticipated. I thank them all for their professionalism, personal attention and friendly attitude under difficult and busy conditions.

Dear David, Thank you very much for your lovely feedback and taking the time to share your reflections on your recent experience – and particularly those at Frimley Health. I can't speak for the Ambulance service involved but I am sure they will appreciate your feedback as much as we have. It is extremely encouraging to know that all the different systems and teams involved in your treatment, care and recovery worked together as intended and provided you with such a pleasant experience. It is particularly lovely to know that your stay was much better than you had anticipated! I will enjoy sharing your feedback with the teams involved. Once again thank you very much for your feedback. Kind regards, Alex Jackson, Patient Experience Manager, Frimley Health Foundation Trust

  4. Review titled Dreadful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Alison - Posted on 29 September 2022

Simply awful. Interminable waits, told by 111 and other professionals that specialist is needed but sent home by a and e and told to come back if it gets worse. Gets worse, more interminable waits… no capacity to do anything to help, meanwhile symptoms getting worse and worse…

  5. Review titled Really poor communication

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Flylilypad - Posted on 27 August 2022

My mother has been an in patient of ward g6 for over a week. I’m her nearest relative, and live a 5 hour round trip away. I’ve managed to visit her once, at a weekend when no doctor was available to discuss her condition/progress. I’ve been promised a phone call to tell me how she’s doing and whether she’s had a stroke. Or when she’s going to be discharged. Or frankly, at this point, just whether she’s still alive. Nobody has called me, and I’ve rung at least 10 times every day to try to get news of her. The phone has never been answered. I had a car journey today, which I dedicated to calling the ward. I rang over 50 times. No answers. I know how stretched the staff are, and how demanding elderly patients are, but this is inhumane. I’m trying to arrange for her to be transferred locally to me, but we can’t even do that unless somebody answers the phone. Elderly patients with dementia can’t advocate for themselves. Contact with next of kin is essential. And we just cannot find out even whether she’s still there. It’s not good enough.

I was brought in last night with SVT and was extremely frightened but put at ease by all of the beautiful staff, from the Paramedics who brought me in and those who cared for me during my time in Resus. Everyone I encountered were so so kind and empathetic. I was so worried but but was given wonderful care. I am so grateful for you all!! Thank you!!
