Review titled Great service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Stu Wallace - Posted on 22 February 2024
I stupidly shut my finger in a car door and then patched it up and hoped it would heal, which it didn’t. From A&E through to Trauma and Orthapeadics the teams were excellent. The nurses and doctors were professional and very pleasant. I’m not a great one for injections but due to their professionalism I went through what for me would have been very difficult with ease. I’ve always had a great respect for this hospital and it’s staff but this experience has just reinforced this.

Review titled Orthopaedics Day Surgery Unit - wonderful care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Stephanie Parnell - Posted on 20 January 2024
I had quite a big hand surgery yesterday and I am very pleased to say that the standard of my care from all of the team on the ward and in theatre was wonderful. The ward and pre theatre room were both immaculate. I felt very well cared for and they even looked after my husband when the restaurant closed. Thank you. The care quality commission need to come and take another look!

Review titled Doctors great
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2024
Triage great , they advised cannula for bloods and pain relief for one needle instead of several for anxious young lady . Next stop nurse who inserted cannula , took bloods , urine sample and supposedly gain pain relief . Doctors very thorough and kind. Couldn't test urine as they d lost it earlier though . Also when asked for different pain relief as not eased, he checked notes and hadn’t received any pain relief in cannula so nothing in the 2 hours there . Booked to come for scan on ovaries following day at 8am to attend Seac. Returned next day to find they weren’t expecting anything and little notes to explain problems. Booked to return at 11 to ultrasound. They scanned then advised mri necessary but only through go referral. Given prescription but told closed for 2 hours and to return for pain relief later . The 4 th visit in 24 hours. Doctor said why not completed while in that dept. Still no answers Poor communication .

Review titled Great treatment in Endoscopy unit
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rosemarie - Posted on 08 December 2023
Attended for a colonoscopy feeling very nervous. All contact with this department was positive. The reception staff, nursing staff and Endoscopist, when I visited, were at all times, helpful, encouraging and professional. The whole procedure was helped by the quality of interactions and care given. Thank you.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Just to say how all the nurses on ward 6 are just Brilliant and are a credit to the furness general hospital but I must say that ambulance service transport services between millom and furness general hospital need a good looking at as this service for patients who need to get back to millom after hospital care is absolutely ridiculous and Is category listed for patients standing which is totally unacceptable millom people deserve more than this so come on morecambe's bay health trust get your fingers out and give millom the service it needs

Review titled Friendly efficient professional
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Bastiaan Veugelers - Posted on 11 August 2023
My son's foot injury on the last day of our family holiday was diagnosed quickly as a fracture and treated with moon boot. Copy of xrays were provided to take to my local fracture clinic. NHS at it's best, makes me proud again to be able to use it for family and work in it as a consultant

Review titled My experience of service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Simon Stinchcombe - Posted on 08 June 2023
What a fantastic department. Smoothly run, plenty of staff tasked with a specific job roll, all tests well explained to you by clearly knowledgeable staff, all questions answered. As a result of the work they have done nothing in the department there is no long waiting between different test's If only all out patients departments could take a leaf out of their book they could all run as smoothly as this department Well done to all the staff. Best hospital experience ever, and I've had a few over the years. Well done again

Review titled Faultless A & E experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Derek Avery - Posted on 19 June 2023
04/06/23 10.15 am Arrived A&E reception having fallen and grazed R/H arm from wrist to above elbow. Swiftly through Triage and after a wait of 10-15 min I was seen and the wounds examined. Shortly after, the areas of skin that had been scraped down in the fall were returned to their correct position and the areas dressed. Advice for re-dressing was given. All the medical staff were kind, understanding and a perfect example of what I believe an A & E service within the NHS service should be. All the medical staff who have redressed my wounds subsequently have praised the treatment given to me originally and state that the efforts of those at Furness General Hospital have assisted the healing and much reduced any permanent scarring. I am deeply grateful to them for their skills that enabled me to carry on enjoying my holiday from which I have just returned. Thank you very much.

Your Review: Visited this hospital because I wanted to be under the same surgeon who performed by cataract operations in Kendal. Furness Hospital is so professional and incredibly efficient. Thank you to all of you for all your first class treatment.
