Review titled Excellent maternity service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Omiko - Posted on 23 September 2023
I had my baby on the 18th September 2023, let’s say choosing George Eliot hospital is the easiest decision ever! A little background… I went into Coventry hospital for induction on Tuesday morning. As at Sunday morning I was still waiting for my water to be artificially ruptured after the two induction methods didn’t have me progress past 3cm. By Saturday morning my contractions were getting stronger and unbearable. But there was nothing they can do (as I have been told every time I asked for help) as there was still no space in labour ward to break my waters. It had gotten so bad I was struggling to walk properly by Sunday. I still wasn’t receiving any support or update without asking. Sunday afternoon, we were asked if we want to be transferred to George Eliot if they have space, we gladly accepted it! Best decision ever!! Right from arriving at the hospital through to delivering my beautiful daughter, the George Eliot staff were all I imagined I wanted at such a vulnerable point in my life. So supportive, walked me through every process and ensured both my husband and I were relaxed, informed and carried along all the way! The atmosphere was just perfect for our little princess’s arrival! She was born less than 12hrs after we got there! I can’t thank the midwives enough! My family and I are forever grateful and can’t stop singing the praises of George Eliot hospital maternity staff!

Review titled A hospital to be avoided
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ivor - Posted on 15 October 2023
Despite the brilliant staff, I was wrongly diagnosed and treated according. I was unable to understand the main consultant and I was left in a isolation room for weeks despite my reasonable requests and responses. Please try to avoid this hospital unless you have no alternative. Take care. Ivor Timson

We are sorry that you experienced difficulty in locating the correct entrance for our Emergency Department, especially at what must have been an anxious time. We have passed your comments to our Estates department so they can review and improve the signage. Chief Nursing Officer, GEH

Review titled Waiting for scan results
by ghostbuster - Posted on 24 August 2023
I have been passing blood in my urine for a couple of months now. There was an infection but that cleared up. The GP referred me for a scan to look at my kidneys, which I had two weeks ago. On checking for the results I was told by the receptionist that the results could take up to twelve weeks to be received. Surely this can't be the norm!? The GP can't do anything until the results come through.

Review titled Excellent care
by Alsy - Posted on 06 May 2023
From the minute I arrived, for my colon resection, to the minute I left, I could not have received better care. All members of staff, from the surgeons to the tea lady, were amazing. So friendly and helpful. Mr Aslam and his team are second to none. I spent 4 days on Mary Seacole ward and the staff there were incredible. I can't speak highly enough of my experience.
