My 96 year old mother was taken in as an emergency by ambulance Friday afternoon. We waited with her until late when she was admitted for tests. We were told ring reception the next day for updates. Ive been ringing every 30 mins since 9 o,clock . finally got an answer & was told Ill pit you through to A & E but they wont answer. Ive phoned A&E direct but it asks whether you want Gloucs or Chelt but wont put you through . What on earth do we do ??????

  3. Review titled Great practise

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The dentist and oral nurses were outstanding, kind and reassuring, every step was explained before and during the procedure. An oral explanation as well as a written one was provided at the end which is very helpful thank you

  4. Review titled Excellent care/service

Oral examination followed by biopsy. All was explained clearly which was reassuring and the care during procedures could not have been kinder whilst remaining wholly professional.

  5. Review titled No hope if your 80+ on ward 3b

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 August 2022

Ward 3b nursing care inconsistent, often given incorrect medication, my operation wound was infected and left unattended to for 5 days, they don’t listen! All elderly patients have dementia (without assessment), that their excuse. They want respect but forget it works both ways, there is no empathy, at times they are busy understandably but ignore you when you’re on the toilet waiting 30 minutes for help. The physio claim you can do things when clearly you can’t and based on that you are ready to go home. Medically fit doesn’t mean you can manage at home without help. Yes, they need beds, there is always someone worse off than you, but to be told by the ward sister at lunchtime you’re going home later regardless with no support or carer in place is a disgrace. Nothing was arranged my assessment was the following day, my friend couldn’t get me into bed, so slept in the armchair. My bed is a divan it doesn’t move or have sides to grip on, but the physio team said I was ready to go. It took three days to get the care package I needed in place, 2 nights sleeping in the chair as I had no bed rails. My medication was incorrect when I left, and GP couldn’t understand my discharge notes. We all know the NHS is stretched and under resourced, we treat our pets better. I wish the 2 member of staff that forced me out a happy & healthy life, because I believe in Karma. May be one day you will reflect on your dishonesty and treatment of elderly patients, we are all individuals and need to be treated accordingly, but it’s a tick box exercise without compassion. I sincerely hope the person who was in greater need of the bed is receiving better care and treated with the respect and dignity we all deserve, regardless of age.

  6. Review titled Well manged department in difficult circumstances

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 August 2022

Clearly explained 'protocol' i.e. Triage etc. An observation not a complaint - the member of medical staff who first saw me seemed to wonder why I was there despite a letter from referring health professional. Since I was doing as instructed I did feel slightly uncomfortable - certainly not queue jumping. Triage staff should make judgements on urgency not be judgemental and there is a difference! Full of admiration for the care and compassion I witnessed while waiting. Many vulnerable people around with the potential to become agitated but atmosphere remained calm. Saw senior member of staff after about 2.5 hours which I thought was really good and couldn't fault the courtesy and treatment I received.

  7. Review titled Hearing reassessment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mike Davis - Posted on 15 August 2022

I requested an appointment as it was my perception that my hearing had deteriorated in the four years since I had my first hearing aid. I was offered an appointment without undue delay, and on the day of the appointment was able to be seen earlier than arranged. The consultation was efficient and thorough, and everything was clearly and helpfully explained. Re-testing confirmed the changes to my hearing; my aid was re-programmed on the spot and the improvement has been phenomenal. Sincere thanks to the audiologist and everyone else involved - I hope it is possible for this message to get back to them.

  8. Review titled The most wonderful staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rhianon Sadler - Posted on 15 July 2022

I visited the unit today due to miscarriage complications. The staff made this the best experience it could possibly be. I was treated so kindly and the compassion and care they gave me was second to none. I would like to thank every member of the team I saw today, from the bottom of my heart, thank you

  9. Review titled Nurses didn't care, wrong drugs provided

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 August 2022

Stay at the hospital for a short stay, where my drugs was misplaced. I was given drugs at the wrong intervals and rushed out. No after care put in place, and was given the wrong drugs home. So had to see my GP to get the right drugs

  10. Review titled Wonderful Nurses

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jeremy - Posted on 13 July 2022

Went into the Covid Red Zone in the middle of the night. Was advised to go via 111. Considering the pressure they are under the Night Nurses we’re so kind and understanding. They did everything possible I was waiting for test results and saw the Doctor the following morning who explain my results and the reason for my erratic Stats. The amount of pressure they are under they still found time to make sure I was ok . I was in chair for most of the night because they were full - and many were far worse than me . Thank you night nurses on the Covid Ward . They managed to look after me under obvious pressure.
