Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was very concerned about pain after a recent major operation.Having never had to seek help from this hospital I was unsure how it was going to be be addressed. Wow! I should never have had any concerns. I was checked in in no time at all and called inte hospital the charming and very understanding triage team within no time at all, just so professional and caring, not only was I at ease I could sense their understandings. Thank you Good luck to you all . Graham

Review titled Minor injuries
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a minor injury involving a toe and the swiftness from walking in the building to being seen was amazing. All staff that I spoke to were extremely nice and good at their job. I want to thank them for being so great in my circumstance.

Review titled Fantastic service.

Attended urgent care after injuring my hand and wrist, despite quite a long wait, the staff were all professional and cheerful. Query scaphoid fracture or sprain and referred to fracture clinic and splint supplied. An asset to Gosport

Review titled Great Team Support
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lisa Dugan - Posted on 07 March 2024
We have a service in the same building as the urgent treatment centre at Gosport War Memorial. Yesterday one of our clinicians became extremely poorly and the urgent treatment centre team came and supported our staff in supporting the individual until the ambulance arrived. This showed great team support and our staff really appreciated the help that was provided.

Review titled Bad experience
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Grandparent - Posted on 22 March 2024
Sent to minor injuries by GP, concerned that a cut on my 3 year old granddaughters hand was infected. Receptionist very friendly and professional. Triage nurse was neither, she didn’t talk to my granddaughter at all, and didn’t explain that she was doing - clip on finger, thermometer in ear. Just focussed on her computer asking questions, including what school she attended - she’s 3. Then moved to a very crowded waiting area, over 30 people, with a sign stating there was a 4 hour wait. Over an hour in the small ‘play room’ was enough, granddaughter was now bored and hungry. Didn’t seem like many people had been seen it that time so expected the wait to be longer than another 3 hours. Informed receptionist we were leaving and was asked to complete a form to state it was our choice to leave. What has happened to our NHS, can’t get a GP appointment, 20 mile round trip to local minor injuries clinic, rude staff, long waiting times, poor facilities/environment (especially for children). Meanwhile there is the Fareham Community Hospital that is under used. Ended up taking my granddaughter to the pharmacist whose advice was to use Savlon cream on the wound and go the GP if it gets worse. Back to the beginning then!

I visited today to get an xray of my ankle. I was so impressed with how friendly and professional all the staff were and how quickly I was seen. I arrived at 9.45 and was heading home by 11.15. My aftercare was thoroughly explained and I felt really well looked after. Thank you to all the fantastic staff, I had a really positive experience!

Review titled Ignorant support worker and midwife
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Niki - Posted on 14 December 2023
I have had a booked appointment at 3:30 I buzzed to be let in nobody answered for the call bell after a few minutes a cleaner lady has let us in . I went to the waiting room as usual , then nobody was there I was sitting there for 30 minutes knowing my appointment was half an hour ago I was going to ask somebody what’s happening but no staff around so I had to walk around the department down the corridor finally found a support worker who from distant asking me to wait in the waiting room and I still didn’t know why I have to wait , later I went back after 40 minutes to that support worker who explained it eventually there’s is a delay because someone was running 30 minutes late ? I do not understand if someone is 30 mins late why that person appointment doesn’t get rescheduled ? So I had to leave and reschedule my appointment cause we didn’t calculate the waiting for a booked appointment is 45 minutes . Also that support worker was not helpful with giving information and said ” well appointments are like that running late “. Also my midwife has passed next to me didn’t say a word .. not even sure what they can do for me because the appointments has not got any informations or value .

Review titled Unprofessional and rude
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 December 2023
Although the majority of thr staff were pleasant there was a nurse practitioner who was very rude when I said I had to leave and then shouted me and pointed thr over end of the corridor to go over to him. My son was very distressed for over an hour and all thr staff were ignoring him until one placed us in a play room after waiting over an hour

Review titled Amazing facility that we are lucky to have
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Michelle - Posted on 18 August 2023
I’m so grateful to the team at the Urgent Treatment Centre at War Memorial Gosport, I went in feeling like a had something in my eye that I couldn’t locate and it was sharp and scratchy and watering badly. Everyone from the receptionist was welcoming and sympathetic, the triage nurse was warm and humorous even after being on shift for 12 hours and the practitioner who sorted my eye out was kind, funny, sympathetic and really knowledgeable explaining everything to me about my eye injury (which turned out to be a significant corneal abrasion) and how best to help it heal. We really are lucky to have such a fantastic local service and I hope the team know how valued and appreciated they are.
