Rated 5 stars out of 5

Had recent course of phototherapy and from initial consultation through successful treatment to final discharge everyone was professional, considered and helpful. Not forgetting how friendly everyone from reception to nursing staff were.

  2. Review titled Day Surgery - Amazing Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Katie M - Posted on 19 March 2025

As someone on the autistic spectrum, I can really struggle with sensory issues and communication. The staff who overviewed my care were really helpful and understanding about the needs I have to ensure I'm comfortable and provided them well, particularly with the sensory issues I have. I struggle when it comes to needles and wanted my friend as they tried to put the cannula in as I almost had a severe panic attack and needed his support. They quickly went and got him to keep me calm and to be able to proceed. The staff kept checking in on me frequently to make sure I was doing okay not just because of the surgery but also my anxiety and ASD due to the impact it was having on me before my surgery. They ensured I had everything I needed to be comfortable and cope with my anxiety. I'd especially like to say my thanks to the nurse who was really calming when I almost had the panic attack as she was lovely and helped me get through it. She was also the one who checked in on me the most to make sure I was coping well enough beforehand as well as after. Even before the surgery I had, I was a bit scared and not knowing what to expect as it was my first time having general anaesthetic. They assured me everything would be fine and answered any questions I had really well and informatively. When I mentioned about my sensory issues (with certain fabrics) they allowed me to bring my own blanket for my comfort for after to ensure I was warm enough when I came back around. Before I was discharged, they made sure I had everything I needed and explained clearly enough for me to understand what aftercare I'd need at home. I usually struggle with hospitals quite severely and end up with severe panic attacks that spiral out of control, but I had a very positive experience and would happily recommend it if anyone else needed the same procedure. The staff were amazing and I give all my thanks to them who were involved in my care.

  3. Review titled Huge relief

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sue - Posted on 15 March 2024

I had waited a long time for my appointment and was dreading it, but I couldn't have had a kinder, more respectful experience. I am so grateful to the Doctor who saw me. They were everything that I would have wished them to be. Their listening skills were excellent, and their reassurance too. Thank you!

  4. Review titled Friendly, professional & informative

    by sambazh89 - Posted on 11 January 2024

Seen marginally in advance of appointed time. All team members were friendly, professional & informative. I felt safe & cared for. The surgical nurse was also explaining to a student what she was doing and why. She seemed to be a very good teacher/coach.

My Daughter attended day surgery & all the staff we met, were fantastic. It was the 1st time my Daughter had been in hospital & everyone made her feel at ease. A special mention to the Nurse who looked after us.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From the booking procedure (through initial consultation, speed of appointments, the (minor) operation) to cup of tea and biscuits afterwards, my whole experience has been fantastic. All staff were efficient and friendly. Thank you so much.

  7. Review titled Great care and skill

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Christine Lethbridge - Posted on 26 August 2023

I attended the department for removal of a BCC on my nose and found the care by all members of staff to be exceptional. The skill and care which the staff showed during the procedure was superb. To deal with small wounds in difficult areas which are visible to the world must take a great deal of expertise and I do not believe enough recognition is given to these practitioners First rate!!

Attended dermatology clinic on 3rd July. Everyone that I met was helpful and reassuring. The receptionist was cheerful and welcoming. The lady registrar that examined and treated me was absolutely first class, kind, compassionate and with a sense of humour.

  9. Review titled A Big Thank You

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Helen - Posted on 03 July 2023

I recently attended an appointment at the dermatology department, to assess an area on my lip. The appointment came really quickly following my initial assessment with my GP, which was much appreciated. The dermatology consultant was really thorough and professional. She answered all my questions and gave me all the information and treatment I needed to manage the condition. She was kind and reassuring, and followed up the appointment with a letter reconfirming everything discussed in the referral. I can't thank the whole team enough for all their help in providing a brilliant service - thank you everyone.

  10. Review titled Best possible experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sharon Sproat - Posted on 29 April 2023

I attended the morning glaucoma screening clinic on 26 April 2023. I was very impressed. I saw five (or six?) different clinicians and each of them was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and answered my questions. And the clinic was very efficient - I barely had a chance to get out my newspaper or chat to my neighbour before I was called to another room for another test! The receptionist was friendly as well. Please give my praise and thanks to all of the staff on duty that morning.
