  1. Review titled Terrible experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

Referred urgently by GP for my 17year old with suspected Sepsis & difficulty breathing. Very rude unhelpful nurses, very poor communication between staff & to patients. Took 9 hours to start antibiotics. Complained & was told our experience was acceptable because that's just the way it is. Disgusting treatment & the majority of the staff just don't give a dam & shouldn't work in the medical profession.

I was seen 10 minutes early by two very friendly, professional and helpful staff. The senior member of staff went above and beyond to explain and reassure, and was very thorough. Excellent staff, excellent service.

  3. Review titled Fantastic service

I very recently had an hysterectomy at County Hospital. The treatment I received throughout was superb. All the staff were amazingly supportive, friendly & professional. I cannot thank them enough. Following my surgery I was looked after by the excellent staff on Teme Ward. The whole experience was second to none & they deserve recognition for all the good work they do. Many thanks!

  4. Review titled Incredible treatment and care.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Yesterday I had an operation at Hereford county hospital. I got to the Surgical SDEC unit at 8am and was there most of the day. All the nurses that dealt with me were incredible and accommodating. They did not stop all day and were all very friendly, welcoming and accommodating to every patient they saw. Everyone who dealt with me was fantastic. All the way up to the anaesthetic’s team. Explained everything that was going on and that was going to happen brilliantly. Could not recommend enough. Thank you for everything, you were all fantastic.

  5. Review titled Great personalised care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was admitted last week for severe pain and bleeding, all of the staff on the womens health ward were absolutely incredible. Such lovely and friendly doctors and nurses who really do have great person centred care. I was able to get my pain managed, didn’t feel like I was wasting their time which I had previously had. Took my conditions seriously and got all the help I needed to start recovering at home. Thank you so much to everyone on the Womens Health Ward, especially for all the lovely peppermint tea!

  6. Review titled Wonderful Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I spent 2 days in the SDEC unit after being seen by the GP in A&E after being referred by my GP. Every member of staff I saw or spoke to was extremely kind, helpful and patient. Despite being so busy they took time and made my care person centred and made me feel listened too. Faultless experience

  8. Review titled Efficient friendly service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came as a day patient to have some vascular surgery. From arrival at day case reception to departure all the staff, including the surgeon and theatre staff who dealt with me were so friendly, reassuring preparing for the surgery and in dealing with me post surgery, most efficiently and courteously. It was a shining example of the NHS working at its best, well done.

  9. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Catherine - Posted on 25 April 2024

Having visited other hospitals quite frequently of late, I was very impressed with Hereford County Hospital. I witnessed examples of team work, I was treated respectfully and incredibly impressed by the duty of care, not just for myself but for other patients around me. This is unusual in an out patient scenario in other hospitals I have visited. Staff kept me informed, took time to put me at ease and made sure I understood the outcomes of my appointment. I observed staff to pay particular attention to the more vulnerable patients around me, ensuring they were comfortable and knew what was happening now and next. Although visiting a hospital is not always a pleasant experience, the friendliness at Hereford makes the need for being there manageable. The work the NHS staff do is so hard but to do it respectfully and maintain that duty of care is commendable. I cannot thank the staff enough.

  10. Review titled Very Thankful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I would like to express my gratitude to your hospital and to all the staff who cared for me when I visited A&E on the evening of December 25th, and then admitted to Lugg Ward were I remained until being transferred to New Cross Hospital Wolverhampton on January 2nd, for a triple heart by pass operation. All of the staff who cared for me showed dedication, understanding and were all extremely professional and kind. I was particularly impressed by the younger staff, who so often are not recognised for their maturity and commitment. I could not have received better care or support through what was such a difficult personal time for me and my family. I am now feeling so much better and am well on the road to recovery.. Please pass on my sincere thanks to all of your staff and continue to carry out such important work.
