  2. Review titled Rude Receptionist, Lovely Medical Staff

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Rude Receptionist - Posted on 17 September 2024

The receptionist in urgent care (can’t enter her name but she had a double barrelled surname) was exceptionally rude when asked basic questions about my visit in a polite manner. Told me to ‘book a GP appointment’ across the room (considering I was in urgent care it would suggest that waiting to book an GP appointment wasn’t an option) she also loudly questioned my symptoms in earshot of other patients. She was exceptionally unprofessional, made the experience significantly more stressful and is a stain on this otherwise great hospital. The nurse and doctor I saw were exceptional, polite, efficient and made me feel at ease.

  3. Review titled Great Hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Amanda - Posted on 21 August 2024

I went today for brief day surgery. All the staff from the health care assistance to the anaesthetist were friendly approachable and explained and reassured me. I was very confused when coming out of the anaesthetic and very upset and they supported me and gave me time to sort myself out and made sure I was ok.

by Simon - Posted on 04 July 2024

Arrived for my first appt at 9:10am for appt at 9:15. Called to see consultant at 9:15. Was sent for an X ray as my local ones had not been supplied. 9:25 returned to waiting area post xray. Left dept at 9:35 having had a review and action plan agreed to decide type of surgery required. This is the NHS at its best and reflects my experience 4 years ago when I had a knee replacement at the same hospital.

  7. Review titled Unforgettable Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Hans van Groesen - Posted on 29 September 2024

My father, was admitted to ward 2 in April 2024 at the age of 96. Although he did not speak English, the staff tried to communicate via icons and Google Translate and patience. We were very surprised by the good food, hospitality and friendliness of the entire staff of ward 2. Thanks to the always positive, fanstastic and loving care, his stay was unforgettable. I have stayed in various hospitals all over the world. But never experienced generousity, hospitality and dedication like this. To All the staff: Thank you all from the bottom of my heart !!

  9. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Carole Kennedy - Posted on 23 May 2024

I have had hip replacement operations on both hips at Hexham Hospital, one in December 2023 and the second in April 2024. I wish to express my gratitude to the orthopaedic teams and nursing staff of Ward 3 who cared for me. I received the best of treatment at Hexham. All the staff were kind, caring and professional. I felt secure and safe in their hands, which I'm sure helped my recovery. At each stage I was kept well informed and reassured. Thank you so much to you all for your dedication and hard work - it is greatly appreciated.
