Review titled Superb Professionalism and care throughout
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mark Hudson Buckle - Posted on 07 June 2024
I came into the vascular unit to have a btk amputation however, with knowledge of all the clinicians it was decade to try to save the leg by doing a front foot amputation. This was bot successful and I am now awaiting an btk amputation. Through out the team (from auxiliaries to senior consultants) showed exemplary care and understanding even when I got a tad emotional . All the team members were fantastic with far to many to name-check but they know who they are :-)

Review titled Very Satisfactory

Arrived at the glaucoma clinic at 8.15am, receptionist checked my details and amended 2 there and then. I was seen within 5 minutes of my appointment time, over the next 3 hours I had 6 or 7 tests (I lost count!) I was conducted to and from the various room. (being autistic, this was a massive benefit!) there was some time in between tests, but not long enough to become bored. 1 lady, in particular was very good, and wasn't hesitant in seeking a second opinion. (or a 3rd!) I came away feeling my condition had been well and truly investigated! On the whole, a very positive experience within the confines of the condition. Fully matches my experience of the local medical practitioners! Full credit and praise to all involved. Thank You!

Review titled Concerns

Wife had cancer op then chemo, she suffers rheumatoid arthritis and during chemo had to have her rheumatoid medication stopped. 9 weeks after her last chemo the trust did not get in touch with my wife to reinstate it, I contacted rheumatology hull and they said she would have to see rhumatoligist at end of may 2023. This means my wife has gone without her medication for 10 weeks or more. multi-disciplinary team (MDT) is a group of trained staff from different areas of healthcare, who meet together every week, to discuss the care of individual patients. The above did not happen now my wife will suffer without her rheumatoid medication.

I had my regular botox injections today to treat blepharospasm. The consultant has to be one of the nicest people in the world. He has time to explain things and makes me have confidence in what he says.

Review titled Lost in the system
Rated 3 stars out of 5

After waiting 3 months for the neurology 'hot clinic' after a referral from A and E my referral was declined as inappropriate. I was not informed why and I am still waiting more than 2 weeks if asking. I had a ct and mri in a&e suggesting I have a brain lesion and demyelation. I already have blood cancer so my anxiety is off the wall. Due process has not been followed and I'm left in the dark. Its unacceptable.

Review titled Not good this time
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I had an appointment with my neurologist but I didn't get to see the actual neurologist like I did on my last appointment, I had a registrar dr who made me feel like I was making everything up, he didn't even look at my records on the medical file, he just wrote little notes on paper, while he was examined me he was telling me to stop tensing when I wasn't, I have no feeling and numb in that area, I tried to tense this area later on just to see if I can and I couldn't, he disagreed with the actual neurologist diagnosis, I was put on some strong medication for a year and he says if no improvement there is nothing that can be done, no explanation as to what will happen to me if this happens, no explanation of effects of new medication, I also tried to discuss the pain I was in and he says I shouldn't be in any pain with the medication I am taking, but I am in pain, he made me feel like I was making the pain up too, please give patients the option of seeing a registrar or the actual doctor who gave diagnosis, my actual neurologist who gave diagnosis was lovely and understood everything, I have been worried since appointment and relying on Google for information

Review titled Absolutely wonderful

I have been in HRI (Ward 5) for 8 days and the care I received in there was nothing short of incredible. Every member of staff was attentive, kind, caring, and incredibly understanding. Whether I needed medication or even just a drink, they were with me as soon as possible and showed absolute professionalism. Absolute angels.

Review titled Disgusting ignorance of autism - endocrinology
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Andy - Posted on 29 March 2024
Was referred here by my GP. Requested reasonable adjustments and information to be provided from both P A L S and the endocrinology department. After two weeks, no effort had been made by either to contact me /reply to emails or to assist in providing the reasonable adjustments. I eventually gave up and referred into a different NHS trust. Hull Teaching Hospitals need to learn that autistic patients matter to and they have a duty to ensure that we are catered for and that all staff have mandatory autism training as set out in law. Disgusting place run by obsequious sycophants.

Review titled Extra for previous review, not good this time
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 March 2024
During examination while Dr was trying to find ankle reflexs he told me to get up on the bed and kneel down against the wall, very embarrassing and hard position to be in with numbness and balance issues, I've never had to be in this position before just for reflexes even my daughter who was with me was surprised to see this happen, I have new symptoms I wanted to discuss but after everything, Dr making me feel like I was making it up and with this I didn't want to discuss new symptoms, I will wait until I see the main Neurologist Dr who diagnosed me, hopefully that will be my next appointment
