My Dad an 83 year old came to a n e 30th April he came to a n e for some blood tests n was told he would need to give a poo sample. He was sent away without the results of blood tests n was told they are too busy to help him n he was told too busy to let him take the poo sample. He now has to go to his GP to do this today 1st May. He is worried about his stools. Deeply worried he is and was sent home without any clarification as he was told they are too busy.

Review titled Amazing care from all staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had the misfortune of having to go to A&E twice within one week, and on each occasion, I was treated kindly and thoroughly examined until the cause of my urgent medical issues was found. I couldn't recommend Kings anymore highly.

The help I received from the team manning the pharmacy helpline was fantastic. They were friendly, reassuring and went out of their way to make sure I received some meds from the Outpatients Pharmacy that I needed urgently. I wish I could pass on my thanks personally for their help it made all the difference.

Review titled Very pleasant Sonographer
Rated 4 stars out of 5

I won't mention the lady's name as per your guidelines but her name starts with K and she's a Sonographer who carried out my echocardiogram today. She was polite, upbeat and chatty which was very welcome and made my appointment go well.

I have tried on two occasions to try and phone the Cardiology department but no one answers the phone. Both times I was waiting for 15 minutes for someone to pick up. Why don't you have an email address????

by Lena z - Posted on 20 October 2023
Been twice to Harris birthright for scan and both time I've been very pleased with the staff. However, I am still waiting for 2 scans to be booked . Been on the phone 4and half hours waiting to have someone with no answer yesterday and today I've been on the phone for over an hour with still no answer. This is ridiculous.

Review titled Appalling Farce
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mrs Linstead-Hewlett - Posted on 13 November 2023
I had an appointment on 31st October- I am physically disabled and have an electric wheelchair- a member of staff assisted- sent me information on the ramps, threshold, door widths etc at my request. I had already been waiting over 5 months for this appointment. I phoned the week before to request a manual hoist to be told my appointment had been cancelled- I received no phone call or letter. Allegedly the Consultant deemed it not appropriate to attend due to not living in London - how naive of them- given you can seek treatment anywhere within England. Allegedly the cancellation was sent on a system to inform my Doctors Practice. I at no point was made aware of the cancellation and now because of this individual I have to wait again on the list to be seen - which will be 1 year. The person that took this decision needs to have training - if I had attended- would have been costly to myself without any form of consultation due the cancellation.

Review titled Outstanding care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Wendy E. - Posted on 08 September 2023
I wish to say a heartfelt thank you for my routine endoscopy experience today at King's. I think probably around 12 members of staff were involved in some way in my care and in every case the care was excellent. A staff member greeted my husband and I and gave us a consent form as we entered the department and directed us to a waiting area.20 mins before my appointment time I was guided through to another area. 3 members of staff, a doctor and 2 nurses there gave me great care, describing the procedure in detail, being careful to obtain informed consent, paying close attention to dating and signing of the consent form. My medical details were carefully taken down, my blood pressure taken and my blood glucose level checked and recorded accurately by the patient and kindly staff members. I had a short wait but my expectations were already informed expectations as I was told I was 7th on the list that morning so I didn't feel forgotten. Once in the small theatre the lead doctor introduced himself and I could clearly see his name badge too. He was training another doctor who actually did the procedure on me. I had a sedative but found the experience a little difficult but felt very reassured to hear several people saying I was doing well and not long now, that sort of thing. This really helped me. In the recovery room the nurse looked after me so very well. My blood pressure and blood oxygen were constantly monitored and the nurse was paying close attention to me. When I coughed on my biscuit shr was with me quickly on case I needed any help. We had some nice chats and I sang to her briefly and she sang to me briefly an old song we found we both knew. How lovely. I found everyone to be informative, reassuring, kind, professional, knowledgeable and attentive. I felt very well cared for indeed and feel so grateful for my great experience today at King's. Please thank all those involved in my care. With all good wishes Wendy 08.09.23
