  1. Review titled Above and beyond

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Lynda IIiffe - Posted on 29 August 2023

My experience over the last two years of attending this hospital as an in patient and out patient has been extraordinary. The orthopedics dept and staff have gone above and beyond to solve my difficulties, always with extreme kindness and efficiency. I have never before been in to a hospital with this level of service.

  3. Review titled Very bad gynaecology follow-up appointment service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 August 2023

Two phone calls made. One lasting 57 minutes, being 1st in the queue for over 45 minutes. I ran out of battery. Second call lasting 53 minutes, 1st in the queue for 35 min. Very dry receptionist. He was looking only for my address on the system for 5 minutes. Traumatic experience from the very beginning.

  4. Review titled Lovely empathetic lady. Reception area. Next to seating

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Stage 2 of the booking in process. The delightful staff member sat behind the desk today was a breath of fresh air. Above and beyond her role, she recognised me from a rather harrowing process of booking in a relative. She gave me updates, reassurance and some welcome kind words. It is so lovely to have empathetic staff members to hand when you are in difficult situations. A great help today. Thank you!

  5. Review titled Terrible admin

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 September 2023

Consultant's care which is good totally negated by terrible admin. letters take ages (21/2 months) and secretaries seem to be able to judge who gets letter/copies or not. Unacceptable. Patients are entitled to receive copies of the letters regarding their own consultation thank you very much. Also hospital gives me the willies factory of diseases and conveyor belt of ailments where the human approach has gone awol. Doctors fighting a loosing battle in this setting!

  6. Review titled Prenatal care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I raised concerns over breathlessness to my midwife and was sent straight to MAU, who then throughly checked me over and sent me to triage, I was then admitted to hospital and spent 5 days in hospital under the care of such lovely lovely midwife’s and student midwife’s, brilliant drs and junior drs and obstetricians. They done thorough tests to see why my heart rate was so high- which I’ve needed to be checked for years and been dismissed by gps, and trying to help me find out whether I have a PE or not. I’m so grateful for the care I received and for the caution taken to protect my baby.

  7. Review titled The Urgent Treatment Centre at King's is fast & fantastic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Simon Nicholson - Posted on 18 May 2023

On the 18/05/2023, I attended the, Urgent Treatment Centre at King's College Hospital. I arrived at 08:35 hours and registered and within less than 10 minutes I was seen by a triage nurse. Within 30 minutes I was seen by a nurse practitioner who examined me and sent me for an X ray. Within less than 10 minutes I received an X ray. Within less than 30 minutes I was seen by the same nurse practitioner who examined me. She told me my results, which eased my mind no end. I left the Urgent Treatment Centre, at 10:00 hours. From start to finish I was treated with respect and the staff are a credit to the hospital, the NHS and they should be congratulated. From start to finish the experience was fantastic. I would recommend the Urgent Treatment Centre at King's College Hospital, to anyone requiring medical attention.

  8. Review titled Terrible maternity experience

    by greenrj68 - Posted on 30 August 2023

I wasn't happy with my experiences at the Harris Birthright Centre. The building may be flashy and 'impressive', but my experience of having scans there was disturbing for the following reasons: 1. When I first went, they asked if I would take part in research, but they didn't fully explain what it would entail or how much time it would add to my appointments. 2. My scans took absolutely ages, and they had to take photos of almost every body part. I since realised that this was because I had agreed to participate in the research. 3. All of the sonographers I saw were cold and unfriendly. Also I could barely hear what they were saying, even when I asked them to speak up. 4. They didn't really seem bothered about how it may be exciting or even emotional to see your baby for the first time, nor did they make it easy to take decent photos. They very easily could send better quality screenshots, or maybe invest in a printer and give the service users a print out seeing as we are giving them pretty valuable data, not to mention our time...!! 5. All of the sonographers pressed very hard with their equipment which was painful and they continued even when I said it was hurting me. 6. One of the sonographers got a bit irate because my baby was not playing ball and shook my tummy really hard without asking for my consent or giving me any warning. 7. At my final scan, I agreed to participate in another piece of research regarding pre-eclampsia. I made sure to ask how much time it would add to my appointment, and was told it would add just 5 minutes. I was also told that I would have my eyes scanned, and blood pressure measured at three different sites, which were not revealed at the time. Unfortunately, agreeing to participate in this study added about 20 minutes to my appointment (which was already a very time consuming scan like the previous ones), and when it came to the blood pressure reading I had a monitor strapped around my arm, thigh and neck which was particularly unpleasant and slightly distressing as it felt like I was being strangled. Not ideal at that (or any) stage of pregnancy...!? I have no idea why they don't just explain this stuff beforehand because they will save themselves from future bad reviews/complaints. My partner and I had a terrible experience in the labour ward and postnatal ward.

  9. Review titled Went in for referral but never heard from them again

    by JamesW1234 - Posted on 08 August 2023

I went in for a referral for surgery. I was verbally approved for the surgery but have had no response even to numerous phone calls and requests. Very disappointing

  10. Review titled Post Op

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 May 2023

Had mvd surgery in 2020. All follow up appointments were by telephone (even though this is a physical disability) which were either not on the date it was booked nor at the correct time (the first call the person I spoke to didn't even know when I had had the operation). Nor was it ever with the surgeon who did the operation. The final call lasted less than 5 minutes where I was told there was nothing further that could be done and that I would have to learn to live with it. There appears to be no concern on how this type of news can affect you mentally and certainly shouldn't be delivered via a telephone call.
