  1. Review titled Amazing midwives

by Georgia - Posted on 10 April 2024

The one worry I have is that my symptoms are me being dramatic. I have never felt back pain like I had early hours in the morning and was crying in agony. I knew there was a high chance I was just not coping with my pain. But not once did I ever get made to feel like that. This is my second time at maternity triage and the midwives are something else. You hear all these stories of mean midwives and patronising patients. But the midwives in Kings mill are a blessing to that hospital, nothing but respect and empathy for the patients. Always made to feel like I've been heard and understood. Truly makes me emotional knowing I'll give birth with such an amazing team :)

  2. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

Staff were rude, ignored patients, no updates, resus were even worse, on their phones most of the night, never once was I offered a drink despite telling them I'd not drank for 48 hrs or eaten, no fluids were given. I had to ask for pain killers! Waited from 7pm to 3am before admitted to resus after telling someone im struggling to breathe now, and them saying okay you'll still have to wait... honestly kings mill hospital is going so downhill. I've now been transferred to queens which still took around 8 hrs. Within 2 hrs of me being here I've had an xray and I'm on a ward. Sort it out kings mill, you're better than this. Talk to your staff about showing each other memes and jokes and laughing at patients or talking about them openly.

  3. Review titled Outstanding all round experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From start to finish the entire experience within the physiotherapy department has been outstanding. The admin team are welcoming warm and friendly. The area is clean and runs like clockwork. Appointment times are spot on and no waiting around. The physio has been outstanding. He is gentle, caring and a good listener. He is informative and positive in every way. He has all the qualities of an outstanding teacher as well as physiotherapist. Thank you Sherwood Forest Hospital Trust!

  5. Review titled Thank you to the MRI team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sara - Posted on 10 April 2024

I was so scared of having an MRI because i had a horrible experience a few years ago. But this experience was completely different and i'm so grateful to everyone in the team. I don't know anyone's names but from the lady who checked me in and i signed the forms with; the wonderful nurse who gave me the cannula and explained everything and reassured me before going for the proedure; and the 2 people who actually did the scanning - the were all kind and patient and reassuring. It's a whole new set-up and machine which helped a lot. But it was the staff who made me feel so much better about the whole thing and i can't thank them enough for being so nice to me!

  6. Review titled Excellent team.

Sleep and respiratory clinic 15 are all absolutely marvellous. I didn't have an appointment but my CPAP machine had broken and they went out of their way to sort this out for me while I waited. A team to be proud of.

Attended appointment in Ophthalmolgy Department to discuss cataract operation. Was seen on time and advised I would need operation in both eyes and would be placed on waiting list. Everything was explained in full in a professional manner

  8. Review titled Cannot praise them enough!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

What wonderful care and people. From the triage nurse to the SDEC nurses, doctors and ancillary staff - all were fantastic! Thank you. We need to pay our NHS staff far more, they deserve it. Let us not lose this fabulous institution. I can only hope the next government affords the NHS the resources and respect it so richly deserves.

  9. Review titled Terrible service

by Michelle bagshae - Posted on 05 May 2024

Having had months of shoulder pain from a fall and suspecting nerve damage its near impossible to get sensible results or treatment. Referral from doctor took months but ultrasound showed nothing. After being left unable to move or get dressed without help on thursday i managed to get to a and e on friday. Waited almost all day to eventually being sent for xray. No broken bones but still in absolute agony. No treatment offered, cant move my arm ,pins and needles etc ,shaking limbs down left side. The outcome is he reffered me to a bone specialist. Need to wait for an appointment but im now 9 months of pain and this does not make sense or seem reasonable. Surely at this point an mri would be sensible, some kind of pain releif etc. I fell on this arm and think the nerve is trapped or damaged but literally can not get any help. Im at the point id take amputation ,its agony. Please tell me what i am meant to do

  10. Review titled Poor practice

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Sarah - Posted on 28 April 2024

When I was put in the minors department by the paramedic, a nurse called my name after 5 minutes. And I was with my support staff, the nurse was rude. He was saying that he needs to stay with me. She rudely replied I need this patient, not you. So I told the paramedic that I'm not happy that the nurse spoke to me in a rude manner for no reason. I'm here for a reason, not to be spoken to in a rude manner. This actually agitated me, I have a learning disability as well so this isn't helping.
