Review titled let down by front desk
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by MR Stephen arthur Gill - Posted on 20 December 2024
Both my partner and myself cant praise your hospitol and departments enough - Always superb service but let down on the last visit by your front desk - I have 2 hearing aids and asked my partner if she could pick up some batteries for me for them - The person on the desk got very funny about it and demanded that she showed a card for them even though I have never been asked for one and was even told that they dont need them any more - The finally gave her one pack even when told it was for two aids so now I will have to go in myself because I dont think for two aids that will be enough for the holidays - Again except for this we have nothing but praise for the hospitol and staff

Please pass on our appreciation to all the staff who were on duty during the afternoon of Tues 24th Dec 2024 who were unfailingly friendly, efficient ,helpful and professional over the course of the afternoon when we attended A & E - very much appreciated ! Particularly appreciated were helpful reception , easy car parking and staff going the extra mile to be helpful in making a five hour attendance pass as well as possible in waiting area.

Review titled Fantastic service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sian Robertson - Posted on 02 December 2024
I was admitted yesterday to an obviously overstretched emergency department, via ambulance, and all I can say is that my treatment was second to none from my arrival until my discharge. The department was incredibly busy, winter pressures exacerbating the workload. I never once felt neglected, overlooked or a burden. On receipt of my bloods and swabs I was swiftly moved to an isolation room with a patient with a similar diagnosis. I was to be admitted, however, they were no beds on the ward, therefore to ensure my comfort, I was moved off a trolly onto a bed at 2.15 in the morning. The staff had obviously been sourcing beds for their patients. I was monitored regularly and all the staff involved were polite, friendly and professional. Well done to you all, and thank you for your care.

Review titled So compassionate
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I unfortunately had to bring my 3 year old to children’s A&E this evening. Even though it was clearly extremely busy the staff were incredible, kind, and understanding. We felt listened to and thoroughly cared for. Thank you so much.

Review titled Very long wait
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 December 2024
After being told by my doctor to go to A&E and after just having surgery, I went it was the worst, very busy but knew I would have to wait. 14hrs later and only spoke to the the doctor 13hrs after. No communication between doctors or nurses, when asked I asked how long was told, we have people here from yesterday 15hr wait. I get that the NHS is struggling but a bit of kindness goes a long way when ill. No communication to the patient just left there.

Review titled Let down again
by Colin Smith - Posted on 02 December 2024
Initially I was due to have a knee replacement on the 9th November 2024. Having spent a whole day in hospital gowned up with no food or water. I was sent home around 5:00pm, with no explanation. Eventually I was given another date 2nd December 2024. The day before I was called to say the operation was cancelled again. The planning required to have knee replacement surgery is immense. Sorting out time off work, getting lifts to hospital and back, Others taking time off work to help. Mental strain and stress caused by worry. Just to be let down twice. The NHS needs proper management, not money throwing at it. they waste billions, the whole of the UK sees it. During the pandemic doctors and nurses were held in high esteem. Not anymore. Mention the word NHS to most people and they just give an example of how they or someone they know has been let down time and time again

Review titled Outstanding

t. I have never felt so comfortable and understood by a team in hospital before like I have with these guys down in the endoscopy department. I was so scared to have my procedure done and every single one of them listened to me and made me feel so reassured. They all deserve a big appreciation, thank you to all of you!

Review titled Unsafe discharge
Rated 2 stars out of 5

After several very good experiences over the past few years I persuaded a family member to be taken to KMH instead of QMC. Sadly they failed him completely by releasing him home alone with no care package whilst currently unable to mobilise adequately to even get a drink or food. He was also prescribed medication including eye drops to administer four times a day when he is almost blind and can barely see the bottle let alone get the drops in his eyes. Apparently an overview by the falls team saying shuffling a few paces with a frame means he’s safe. I wonder how they would feel if it was their parent or grandparent ? The care part seems to have disappeared in nursing.

Consultant in ENT, absolutely marvellous care and kindness shown towards me. Had to have camera up nose into throat, Consultant absolutely marvellous, kind and gentle man, the nurse his nurse and assistant was an absolute star, she totally understood my fears, comforted and reassured me. Explained everything all the time. This is why the NHS is great.

Review titled Fantastic care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

So after being passed from 1 hospital to 111 and then to kingsmill, I arrived just before 12 and the nurse was amazing from start to finish, and then the doctor was also brilliant and together got me seen and sorted and back home by 2! Couldn’t fault anything and the care I received was incredible. Understood my illness and acted quickly. 5 star from me x
