Review titled Efficient and caring service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Luke Harrison - Posted on 11 October 2024
I can honestly say that from the moment I stepped onto ward 14 of the jubilee wing I was put at ease. Been slightly apprehensive about the procedure I was immediately calmed and the nurses did an excellent job throughout. A massive thank you to everyone involved and for making it such a stress free experience. The whole process was efficient from the start and every need I had was taken care of. Again a massive thanks for everything.

Review titled Great Care

I was down on Cardiology list to have stent fitted. In early hours of Wednesday 26th June 2024, was brought into A and E where tests showed a small heart attack. Staff from Cardiology came to see me and it was decided to bring stent insertion to that day, everything being explained to my husband and I in great detail. I was taken up to procedure room, met by wonderful caring good humoured staff, including my specialist I met earlier in the year. They made what could have been a worrying experience into something I could tolerate and find interesting. (I am known for being a bit of a coward). So very well done on that score alone. 2 stents were fitted, and then taken to Ward 19. The care, kindness and good humour excellent to the point I was disappointed to leave later and transferred to Ward 18. However the same standard of care, kindness and good humour were found there. All in all Cardiology outstanding, for making what could have been an extremely frightening and serious experience into something I will always be grateful for. Thank you so much.

Arrived for my endoscopy this morning in a very nervous state after a previous procedure scarred me for life. Well I just want to say from beginning to end what a fabulous experience. I was put at ease from start to finish. The procedure went extremely well, not a bit of pain, I was sedated. Just want to thank all the staff for getting me through it without a hitch. You are all amazing. Thank you again.

Brought in by ambulance. Tests done found to have small heart attack, needed to have stent fitted (already on cardiology list to be done). Care and compassion in here second to none. Not allowed to mention names but one of the doctors treating me outstanding, reassuring, and very kind explaining everything to myself and my husband in what I would call layman's terms. We cannot thank LGI Accident and Emergency enough, for the care during a traumatic experience.

Review titled So attentive and caring

We came in with my 5 year old daughter to receive a diagnostic endoscopy. Obviously due to her age especially, she was so nervous and really scared about what was going to happen while in hospital as it was all new for her. The staff on the l49 ward were just amazing, so caring and attentive and really looked after her. The anaesthetist was brilliant and made her feel so comforted, and all the nurses etc who looked after us were just second to none. Thank you so much for looking after my little girl so well and easing her fears, you were all amazing and I honestly can’t thank you enough. Keep doing what you’re doing, you help make a very scary time for children so much better.

Attended Vascular outpatients for the first time and found all staff very pleasant and helpful. I use a wheelchair with my husband as my carer, and we were seen very quickly and professionally. My mind was set at ease, following the checks done and advice of any future action. Thank you staff, nurses and Professor.

Review titled Exemplary efficiency and care.

My 19 year old Leeds student son attended ED last night with complications from glandular fever and tonsillitis, bleeding quite heavily. As someone who is never ill, this was terrifying for him. He was assessed immediately in the rau and by the time I had arrived (2 hours down south) he had already been admitted and treatment commenced. I work in an ED myself and wanted to express how amazed I was with the care and efficiency from all the treating/ supporting staff, including the ENT team (he tells me the on call consultant attended extremely quickly). You really are incredible. Thank you. Very impressed!

I recently left hospital following my second awake crainiotomy which was a success. I probably met around 30 different members of staff from different fields and they all treated me like I was their number one patient. I want to give special thanks to my surgeon and speech and language therapist whom without, would have made the whole experience more challenging and worrying. They both reassured me before, during and after the operation and I can not recommend them enough, truly. Continue to do your wonderful work improving and saving lives.

Advised to take 86 year old mum to A&E after fall. Waited 4 hours, passed from pillar to post ( signs and directions appalling) before being told at midnight that it would be 6 hours at least to see a doctor. Miserable staff making no effort whatsoever to assist a frail woman in considerable pain. Unable to cope with the wait through the night we discharged ourselves and went home with no idea what to do next.
