My Son has special needs and can be very challenging. He needed an MRI under general anaethetic. After lots of planning with various teams it went ahead seamlessly. It was a very stressful day for me but everything came together and we all made it happen, so happy and pleased it's over. Thank you to all involved. Childrens day unit, Special needs team, anaesthetist and MRI staff.

  2. Review titled efficient and prompt action

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended emergency eye clinic. After a short wait I was triaged and seen by a nurse who administered eye drops to dilate pupils. After allowing the drops to work I was seen by a Doctor who did a thorough examination of my eyes and explained her findings. Very well co-ordinated service professionally carried out. Thanks to all involved.

  3. Review titled Brilliant staff and doctor

I had to attend A and E at LRI yesterday 15 November 2024 and I just have to praise the service I received. All the team in triage, blood sample and xrays, chest and Ct scan were really lovely and I cannot praise them highly enough. Also the nurse who looked after me in room 7 and of course the doctor they all put me at ease which was wonderful. A very big thank you to all of you I could not have wished for better attention despite there being a very busy A and E dept.

  4. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My granddaughter received excellent care during our visit to Children's A&E. Although the department was very busy and we had a long wait, the care she received from all staff was excellent. Extra thanks to the nurse for his calm, straight-talking approach when taking a blood sample from a very distressed teenager.

  5. Review titled Awful

Oncologist sent me for a bone density scan, told result would take 2 weeks, now 4 weeks and still waiting. Rang gp, they said it's down to the Leicester Royal. Second time this has happened, almost ran out of meds due to them not sending a letter to my gp. No faith in them at all. Also been told will have to wait 3-6 months for radiotherapy there. Heard of somebody who's waited 14 months. I can't see how this amount of delay won't affect my cancer treatment long-term.

  6. Review titled Terrible service

My child had an asthma attack and we were told we are high priority however we were made to wait over 6 hours before being seen by a doctor/pediatrician I understand emergencies that come through i was told two emergencies had come through but there was no urgency to have my child looked at I saw numerous children being taken in as they were crying which again I understand maybe their symptoms had worsened but what happen to prioritising That literally did not apply to us we saw everyone taken who had come before and after us and we were one of the many last to be seen This happened before as well so it's not the first time, last time I didn't leave a review but this time it needed to be left

  7. Review titled Wonderful care in 2 departments

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I cannot praise staff and systems in place, enough following a visit to Adult Emergency Department and the Stroke clinic Was seen efficiently and kept informed at all times from the caring teams in both departments The Clinic was so efficient getting all tests, Scans required for a diagnosis and seen by consultant all in one morning. This was excellent. When seen previously at another hospital tests and scans took months and then a further wait to see a consultant meant it was too late to be able to get an accurate diagnosis Well done to all clinical staff and the hospital

  8. Review titled Prompt, efficient and professional service

I arrived at A and E on the advice of my GP to have my hand x rayed. Reception was very efficient and I was seen almost immediately, firstly by the nurse, then the x Ray team and finally the consultant. I was in and out within an hour and a half and had a follow up appointment at the fracture clinic the next day. A very positive experience - thank you to all the wonderful staff.

  9. Review titled Great Communication, Doctors and Staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by Robbz H. - Posted on 09 September 2024

Hello I am leaving a review, I believe it was on Tuesday 3rd September I rushed in to A&E due to Excruciating Severe Abdominal Pains in all areas of my Abdo. The receptionists and staff listened well about the pain affecting my Abdomen, the lady at the front desk with glasses she went above and beyond entering my details, also gave me a paper sheet to fill. Tho I felt in another world, on sitting I managed to fill some details. A nurse called me in, I was not able to find her then in confusion with the pain I asked a few other A&E staff lol. After 45 mins or so the receptionist lady told me where to go and follow the line towards a ward which I followed. She asked if I needed any assistance, I could of had some assistance I suppose, she was great too. I managed to find the Miami Ward after 10 mins. The nurse and doctor who saw me were fantastic, the nurse did my Obs. amd temparature etc, we had a bit of a chat on general things before I sat in waiting area. The system was down, in which I was ok waiting even if it meant me being admitted tho that would be decided. The other 2 South Asian doctors were very good too, one brought me Cocadamol and Paracetamol twice the pain eased of a little tho I still felt it. On being seen by the doctor she was great too and examined me, also how I felt and about the pain I felt. She prescribed me Omeprazole for the time being, my pain has settled quite a bit tho I still feel it if I press my Abdomen to see if the pain is there or has settled. The doctor told me if the pain has not settled then I will need to come back to A&E and they may need to do something and go further in which I am perfectly ok with, if it means treating the Abdomen or going even further to completely treat the problem causing my severe Abdo pains, I would be grateful once treated. I will see how I am in the next week if I feel better then nice and dandy, if not I will come back in to get seen to get sorted. 💯

My husband was referred to Elton Po, from the Ear Nose and Throat Department at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. What a fantastic doctor who was very helpful and knowledgeable in his field of work. I sincerely hope this individual is recognised for his sheer dedication and hard work. I feel like my husband was valued and respected and no doubt this consultant is a great asset to our hospitals Thank you Dr Elton Po.
