  1. Review titled Excellent level of service received.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 June 2024

My son fractured his arm while at school, totally unexpected. I had to rushed from work to collect him from school and then take him straight to the children’s a&e. They prioritised him as his hand was deformed. I was completely shocked by the level of care received. Completely outstanding. They had to stretch the hand out using gas and air and put it into a cast. My son’s only 12. He was put at ease throughout the whole process. You hear a lot of negative things about the hospital. However when you need it. It’s there ready to help you. I can’t thank the staff enough for the treatment received. Plus I don’t often leave reviews. However on this occasion I thought it was warranted. Thank you to the Children’s a&e team.

  2. Review titled Undeniably terrible experience.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Victoria - Posted on 28 June 2024

Undeniably terrible experience. Waited here 7 hours (9pm to 4am) with my 3 year old before giving up and leaving to just go back home. Patients that arrived hours after us were considered ‘priority’ and were called back to see the doctor before my son. No excuses for this! Why was my son’s condition not taken seriously? Is my child not a priority to the NHS? It’s a shame. He vomited over 20x in 1 day and could not keep even water down but even a sprained ankle was more urgent. 2 days later and my son is still unwell but there is no reliability in the NHS. I have been left with no where to turn to.

  3. Review titled Minor Eye Surgery at Eye Clinic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was seen today by two specialist nurses who carried out my eye surgery. They were kind, reassuring, explained the process well and very competent and skilled. Thank you to both ladies for your excellent care.

  4. Review titled Phone called never answered

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 June 2024

Dealing with an ongoing referral with the Gynaecology dept, trying to call to get a test result and chase up a referral to radiology for a scan which should have already been done but yet they have nothing for me. I have tried multiple numbers for the medical secretary's and no one ever answers, I literally try calling every 10 mins for days. Not good when people are going through a stressful time trying to conceive which then the stress of this is not helping and we have time against us. Awful and very upsetting.

  5. Review titled Rubbish system and unacceptable wait time

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 June 2024

I called 111 because my son contracted measles from the last visit at lri A& E. I was given a letter together with what they have done at urgent care and I was told that he'll be in priority because his illness is contagious. It is just illogical that nurses had do repeat everything. We arrived here at 7:30pm and we're still in the same room where they put us in without any doctors came in since we arrived. It is really ridiculous that this big hospital got no doctors. Lacking compassion with the patient.

  6. Review titled Hearing Services

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Susie - Posted on 06 June 2024

I was given an appointment of 8.45am after callling yesterday to report my hearing aids were not working. We arrived on time and we’re taken straight through to doctor, where I was fitted with 2 new aids which were tuned to suit my particular hearing loss. This an absolutely fantastic service and the staff we saw were brilliant. I am so grateful as being without aids is awful. Many thanks.

  9. Review titled Disgusting level of care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jasmine Bradshaw - Posted on 20 May 2024

Waited 7 hours to see a doctor in Childrens an and e. Waiting room wasn’t full but nobody was getting called through to see the doctor. Plenty of HCAs and nurses roaming around looking lost but no doctors!? Nurses sat at station on phones and having a chit chat with one another. When my extremely unwell child finally got seen we were told two different things by two different doctors it went from him being nil by mouth to us being sent home because the doctor said he had perked up - which was because they had gave him medication for him to then only get worse again once we got home. I phoned Childrens an and e and was told I’d have to start the whole process again of waiting. Absolutely disgusting level of care by people who are meant to be looking after us. The hospital is not fit for purpose

by Philip - Posted on 02 May 2024

Got admitted through a and e that was not to bad when done in a and e I went to amu which was a terrible experience they stuck me in corridor till bay come available nobody asked if I was ok anyway I finally got a bed in a bay I was seen by doctor and consultant who told me the plan of action over4 days I was in amu different doctors and consultants was saying something different every time the care was terrible I was not informed much if anything the best and friendly staff where the nursing asst they did everything for you and listened where as the doctors and nurses couldn’t give a monkeys I could not get a mri scan as it would mean 9 days on the ward so I ended up having lumbar puncture which was also not done properly so had to go through more pain the following day when another registrar successfully took sample even when I got discharged I had no reassurance when leaving in fact the registrar popped his head in and said test negative shook my hand and went only person I seen was a nurse who gave me a letter and that was it I’m now out in more worst pain than when I went in I am amazed at the little level of care there is in fact it was something from a nightmare
