I recently went for my first mammogram at leigh infirmary. I was a little anxious as i didn't know what to expect. I needn't have been the nurses are so professional and lovely. The procedure was explained to me and I felt i was really listened to and my questions answered. I implore anyone who has been offered a mammogram to go, it could save your life. Thank you

  2. Review titled Shocking treatment!

Rated 1 star out of 5

Having been referred for ‘urgent’ blood tests I was turned away after after taking an hour out of my work £40.00, paying £3.00 for parking, being told we finish at 4.00pm” it was 5 min past! I was told by the nurse to “come back tomorrow any time with your form” which I did (another hour out of my working day, £3.00 parking £96.00 total) only to be told “sorry you need an appointment and turned away again!! Now I have to attend a 3rd time again another £45.00 and £3.00 parking! Who pays that? Who pays me what I am due? Not the nurses that’s for sure. Absolutely awful treatment. If NHS staff need more money they go on strike … I can’t as a self employed person if I don’t work I don’t get paid! Total disregard for the me as a patient- I still haven’t had my bloods taken (which was urgent!!) and no where to go to complain about my shockingly poor treatment.

Great experience with Escape pain course at Leigh physio. Began the 6 week course with trepidation and finished with greater confidence and understanding of Arthritis. Would recommend to anyone to commit to the course and extend your mobility. Many thanks to the physios involved for their positive attitude and care.

  5. Review titled Dream Team

I cannot speak highly enough of the team that looked after me during my Prostate Biopsy. Right from the moment i walked into the consultation room they treated me with care and consideration putting me at ease throughout the procedure. Although it was to me a slightly daunting prospect the Leading Practitioner explained in detail the sequence of the procedure and answered the numerous questions i asked in a friendly way, putting my mind at ease. The two nurses were both brilliant in keeping me relaxed. A truely professional team.I would recommend them to anyone! Well done Wigan and Leigh Urology Department!!

  7. Review titled exceptional, excellent and exemplary

Rated 5 stars out of 5

During time at The rehab unit at Leigh the care was exceptional, excellent and exemplary. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They got to know me; they knew who family members were; they kept family informed regularly; they were appropriate in what they suggested; they listened to mine & my families concerns about returning home again; they made sure that i was dressed and took part in activities to ease my boredom; they were incredibly helpful in arranging a medical appointment and were happy to assist in a last minute change to this plan due to my mobility on the day. And they did all this with smiles on their faces! What a refreshing difference some other care I received recently. My discharge was seamless and family were kept informed at all times of the process. Thank you.
