I had an Endo/Epicardial ablation & cannot praise highly enough all of the staff involved in making this a positive experience for me. Their professionalism & expertise are commendable. Holly Suite had a reassuring calm atmosphere. Grateful thanks to all.

  3. Review titled Poor communication .... no responses from this hospital

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 June 2024

I recently started experiencing worrying heart palpitations which I suspected might be connected with a pacemaker which was fitted in April 2021. The cardiac nurses' phone was either off-the-hook or simply not being answered. The designated phone lines for the cardiac nurses were not answered despite repeated attempts to make contact and no faciity to leave a voicemail. In desperation I contacted the main switchboard for the hospital and was then transferred to another phone, still no answer but I left a full and detailed voicemail message explaining the problem with a request that I was called back to discuss the concerns I had and how best to proceed. The automated answer advised me that a response would be available within 24 hours. I am now beyond 48 hours without even the courtesy of a reply from the cardiac nurse team. I did make several fruitless attempts to contact the cardiac nurses late yesterday afternoon as I had not received the promised call back. A further message was left once again outlining the concerns. The problem of palpitations still exists and there is a deafening silence from the cardiac nurses, in desperation I consulted my GP this morning who advised that a download of my monitor is scheduled for Monday, however this neither explains or excused the total lack of courtesy or any appreciation of the need to at least acknowledge my concerns before this download.

  5. Review titled Not fit for purpose

Rated 1 star out of 5

My wife was admitted to Arrowe Park Hospital in the latter part of 2023 with urgent heart issues - she was to be taken from Arrowe to Broadgreen directly - however this was cancelled as the heart surgeon allotted returned to Egypt for a family emergency - my wife was sent home - then Broadgreen lost her file so we had to battle to secure another appointment - we did and this was set with her nominated surgeon for 7/3/24 - this morning we have received a notification that her appointment has been cancelled and another date not set - her health is deteriorating and Broadgreen are knowingly letting it happen - please if you can - disagree with me - until then my opinion remains that Broadgreen is not fit for purpose

  7. Review titled Professional, Efficient compassionate

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was an inpatient while awaiting a procedure. I had had a very bad experience at a previous hospital over the preceding days and was anxious and exhausted. I was found a single room to allow a good night’s sleep before the procedure. The staff were incredible and especially Cherry Ward. Nothing too much trouble…lots of cups of tea! Efficient and took time to chat and reassure while maintaining high professional standards. The best of the best. Outstanding. Thank you!

This was my second operation at Liverpool Heart and Chest and yet again I had exceptional treatment and care. I cannot praise the cardiologist, his team and all the hospital staff enough for their expertise and quality of care during and after my pacemaker change. Many Thanks to you all

  9. Review titled Thank you for giving me my life back.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

For some years I have suffered with dizzy spells and the odd blackout, no one seemed able to find a reason or solution. I was transferred from my local hospital to LHCH where within a couple of days the cause of my condition had been identified and an appointment the next day arranged for the fitting of a pacemaker. That has been carried out and I am now at home recovering. I cannot praise highly enough the service that I received from everyone I came in contact with, from the cardiac specialist that implanted my pacemaker to the lovely lady that brought me my dinner (do try the all day breakfast). Everyone was caring efficient and knew how to bring a smile when it was needed. If I ever have to come again and this was my second experience with the hospital, then I would attend happily. Thank you all so much. Jim

  10. Review titled Fabulous professionalism

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mike Brown - Posted on 23 February 2023

I was referred to this hospital with several heart conditions. I have been treated for atrial fibrillation for 6 months now and it's under control. This week I was admitted to Birch Ward for a transfemural aortic valve implantation (the TAVI procedure). I was very impressed by the staff on the ward - domestics, nurses, doctors and pharmacists alike gave me great care - and my admiration and gratitude to the consultants and their team who performed the procedure knows no bounds! During the procedure everybody in the team knows their role and is left in no doubt by the consultants when to perform it. Absolute consummate professionalism. I, as the patient, was kept informed and reassured throughout the procedure. The procedure itself was very successful (the consultant's description at the time). On discharge, I have felt the benefits of my new aortic valve immediately. I am managing steps, stairs and walks up inclines without the breathlessness that I was experiencing before receiving the new valve. I could not be happier! I am so grateful to the whole team. Thank you

Dear Mike - thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're really glad to hear that you received such good care from all the team and to hear that you're already experiencing the benefits is particularly rewarding. Our very best from all at LHCH.
