  2. Review titled Removal of Uretic stent.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jason Hassell - Posted on 07 March 2023

after falling sick in australia and having a operation to insert an uretic stent to relief pain for kidney stone as an emergency. my follow up treatment or lack of it in uk has been diabolical. I visited my gp immediately upon arrival to uk and since have visited maidstone a&e on 2 occasions in 1 week with complications to my condition. my last visit after 10 hrs in a&e I had a ct scan to be told the stone had passed and I would have the procedure to remove the stent and discuss the treatment for another stone within 3 weeks from the duty urologist. I have called this department twice in the last week with no positive outcome. last week I was told I was not in the system and after calling today I was found and to be told that no notes from my a&e visit 12 days ago had been written up and that the urologist had no right to inform me I would have the procedure to remove this within 3 weeks. when challenged today admin clerk had no answer nor able to advise. I have been in a lot of pain and frankly been let down by the system. I have paid into for over 35 years for what?? I seriously hope I do not have any complications from this event. shame on you maidstone and tunbridge well nhs trust.

  4. Review titled The best hospital by far!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 January 2023

I went to a&e last night, I was treated promptly and with the utmost respect and sympathy. I had a lovely doctor who genuinely wanted to help me and did everything he could to ease my pain and make me feel comfortable. I was given appropriate pain relief and rather than just sending me home like most hospitals do, he arranged a plan for me to go to be double checked at a different hospital. The staff were so friendly and offered me drinks and sandwiches, nothing was too much trouble for them. We are very lucky to have Maidstone hospital and all of the kind caring staff within it; they work extremely hard!

  5. Review titled Very poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 December 2022

Appointment was almost 1 and a half hours late with no explanation. Nurse and doctor were rude , unhelpful and brutal. No numbing gel was offered for the procedure although the NHS website said there should be. My husband, who had the proceedure, has been left in considerable pain. I've never left a bad review for a hospital as my experience has always been good but today's experience was truly awful.

  6. Review titled Great Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Leslie Hill - Posted on 21 November 2022

From arriving on Sunday 20th at 19 -15 to leaving at 10-00pm my partner was treated with the most care and dignity you could expect. The Triage was conducted in a professional manner and everything explained. The wait to see the Doctor was roughly just over the hour. Although busy he gave her the time to listen to what she had to say and then examined her and gave his diagnosis. He then produced the Antibiotics required to remedy the problem. We left feeling confident that we had been looked after 100%. Thank you Maidstone A&E you are all a credit to your profession.

My mother was admitted to mercer ward. The care has been outstanding; nurses are professional, thoughtful and caring. Doctors are also excellent and have kept me up to date. They have ensured that my mother remains comfortable, for which I am eternally grateful.

  8. Review titled Standards of care are amazing

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mr Nicholas J Coker - Posted on 06 October 2022

After getting a metal fragment in my eye and presenting to A&E I was informed I'd have an hour and a half hour wait for triage before being seen in approx 5 hours. I was seen in 50 minutes, which was good and sent to minors. Given the option of waiting 8 hours to be seen or returning the following day I opted for an appointment. Due to unforseen circumstances my lift fell through for the following morning. I phoned to notify the dept and the staff were great and scheduled an appointment for me a few hours later. Once I arrived I was in, fixed and out again in less than 15 minutes. The staff were great with steady needle hands! My only criticism is that there were obviously long waiting lists and it seemed the staff were stretched too thin and need more support.

  9. Review titled The treatment was exemplary

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Derek - Posted on 27 October 2022

I was admitted on Wednesday to the ccu after two cardiac arrests, one at home and one at the hospital. I had a range of tests, including chest X-rays, ecg's and an Echocardiogram. My problem was quickly identified as Bradycardia (A very slow heart rate) Thursday I was fitted with a Pacemaker and Friday I was home. I received the utmost care and empathy from all staff, from the Cardiologists, Nurses, Auxiliraries and the Cleaners. I simply cannot praise the hospital and staff for everything they did for me ... without the due care and attention I received I would not be here today. Thank you from myself and my family, bless you all. Derek

  10. Review titled Rapid Access after 8hour wait

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 October 2022

Refered 'urgently' with a retinal tear and hemorrhage on right eye. Rapid access clinic called the same day with early appointment for surgery the following morning. Needless to say I am very anxious. Drops inserted to dilate pupils. Waited to be told staff member off sick so I'm pushed back to 2.15pm. Dilation worn off so another dose of drops inserted ready for my 2.15pm slot. Consultant calls me in at 2.35pm to say he is too busy and needs to see to the general eye clinic patients before ME. The majority of patients sitting around me arrive way after I have but get seen. My choice was either wait until end of clinic for my laser photocoagulation surgery or come back the next day. I had already had a sleepless night before this scheduled appointment so was definitely wanting to get this over with today!!! By 5pm I'm a tearful anxious mess. The Consultant inserted more drops and numbing drops but within 2 mins the surgery started. Awful sharp pains and I almost passed out. The worst experience ever. Advised to go home and rest for a few days. The summary of my day...I was made to wait from 9am to 5pm for a 10minute procedure. Totally unexceptable treatment. Was a horrible experience and has really affected me mentally.
