  1. Review titled Neurology Outpatients - No-one will pick up the phone.

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been trying to contact the neurology outpatients service at Mansfield Community Hospital for several weeks now via the extension number on the NHS website. No-one will answer the phone to support me with a case I am working on in Adult Social Care - whom was advised they would be issued a wheelchair. I have have made several attempts and there are either no staff in this department or they simply do not want to answer the phone.

  2. Review titled Excellent service and experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I booked an appointment for a blood test at the Tony Hughes Treatment Centre which was easy to do online using Swiftqueue. I arrived about five minutes early and was called straight in. The phlebotomist was lovely. She put me at ease and took my blood in a confident and professional manner. The whole experience was so efficient that I was on my way home before my original appointment time. I would have had to wait for two weeks had I booked a blood test at my doctor's surgery. Overall, an excellent service which I will definitely be using again.

  3. Review titled Healthcare at its best.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

GP referred me on the Thursday, Scan done on the Wednesday. Ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound performed. The Sonographer was amazing. Very proffessional, explained everything and gave reassurance throughout. The Sonographer was male but I felt at ease even though its an invasive procedure. He was amazing and how NHS staff be. There was a female staff member present throughout and she was lovely too. Thankyou so much

So impressed with this community hospital. Visited for an X-ray. Had nothing but welcoming profession responses from receptionist, radiologist and cafe bar staff. Easy to find. Good parking. Thank you

  8. Review titled Poor aftercare, no duty of care

by jadeh - Posted on 02 January 2023

My 82-year-old Grandma was placed here to recover from an operation for a new hip following a fall in her garden. She has had several falls over the past 12 months and is very unsteady on her feet. She also has regular infections which have led to sepsis 8 times. Whilst on the Oakham Ward at this hospital she has been very unwell, has not received physio as promised, and is now being released home. My mum has been on the phone daily to try and ensure she is placed in a care home for a small amount of time to allow her to recover and hopefully regain some of her mobility to allow her to go back home. She was told that she had a place at a local care home, only for that to be cancelled and told they're sending her home with 2 carers a day. That is 23 hours a day she will be left alone, with the nearest family member a 40-minute drive away. She is unable to dress herself, cook for herself, take herself to the bathroom or complete any normal day-to-day tasks. The duty of care provided has been horrific, this is an accident waiting to happen. She has worked her entire life, paid into the system, and all the hospital are interested in is getting rid of her to free space for another patient to come in. The lack of understanding and remorse has been horrific, and when an accident does happen and she is seriously injured or worse, no one will be there to take liability. It may be nothing to the healthcare workers, but she is everything to us - the NHS need to sort their priorities out and improve care for those who have contributed for their entire existence. Disgusting.
