Review titled General surgery for elderly father
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 December 2024
My father recently attended Sunderland day care unit and the staff that treated him pre and post op were amazing and took excellent care of him the duration. I waited the whole time with him as he was anxious but three lovely nurses made sure he was in good hands. One has 50 yrs service. The surgeon and anaesthetist made sure to put him at ease and explained what was to happen. The receptionist was lovely also. Would be nice to have somewhere where you can name the staff that went over and beyond in his care, to show thanks. My mother was already admitted to Emerald ward so I had a stressful day worried about both but I knew the staff that were caring for them were excellent so put my mind at ease that day.

Review titled Horrible Experience at Medway Maritime Hospital
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 November 2024
I am utterly frustrated and disappointed with the care my husband received at Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham. For an entire week, my husband was left without the necessary medical attention and diagnostic tests, including ultrasound and CT scans, despite his critical condition. He was forced to sit in the waiting area for countless hours without any updates or progress on his case. His situation is life-threatening, and yet, there was no urgency or compassion shown by the staff. The lack of communication and failure to provide essential medical care is absolutely unacceptable. The hospital's neglect has only worsened his condition, and we are now seriously concerned about the long-term consequences of this delay. This experience has been a nightmare, and I would not recommend this hospital to anyone who is in need of proper and timely medical care.

Review titled Sau (Arethusa ward) - the hero’s
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Katie - Posted on 09 October 2024
I would like to thank every single member of the sau team, specifically my nurses who made my experience stream line. I felt safe and supported and they always had a smile on their faces. I have a massive thank you to first doctor - who without him, I would have not had the procedure I needed to be better. He listened, understood and made me feel important. I can’t thank him enough. Another thank you to all associate nurses / cleaners / health care assistants they the place is always clean, tidy and always made me feel comfortable and safe You are all hero’s in my eyes and I couldn’t be more grateful for my experience

Review titled Excellent treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by David - Posted on 25 September 2024
I'd damaged a finger. Went to Sittingbourne Memorial to have it checked and sorted - but they needed an X-ray and their equipment wasn't operational, so suggested Medway Maritime instead. Had the X-ray, and the technician suggested going to A&E on-site instead of back to Sittingbourne. Wonderful treatment - friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, very supportive, very helpful and not a massive wait. Absolutely nothing to complain about.

Review titled This can’t possibly be a real hospital
Rated 1 star out of 5

Horrendous. Made to feel worthless and repeatedly told they did not want me there. Left food in packages that I could not open so had to just look at the meal. Offered no assistance with mobility issues. Most staff just sat at nurses station chatting and only one of two appeared to care about patient needs. Spent days crying and alone. This place needs strong management and think about their ethics and the reason they became nurses and doctors.

Review titled Amazing care in child A&E
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 September 2024
Visited children a&e for my son who’s been having difficulty breathing, the care and quick response the team give is amazing. The doctor that helped us was so kind, caring and really explained things to us. We left actually feeling relived that he has been helped and will be ok. (Previously visited Darenth valley) who left him waiting for 3 hours with breathing difficulties. But cannot fault Medway at all. There children’s services are fantastic

Review titled Waiting list time
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Melissa - Posted on 26 September 2024
I have been waiting to get a appointment from ear nose and throat department for 8 weeks I called today and they said its a 60 week waiting list. This is awful I'm unable to work full time due to my issue and I am being made to wait over a year for a appointment this is disgusting! I am quicker moving to Scotland and getting a appointment there and sorted before getting 1 appointment down in medway! Absolute disappointment the way the NHS is.

my stepson was in green zone level 3 and the help that he got was appalling, they left him in pain and they did finally come to help they said he will have to wait to se a doctor? they then gave him an aspirin?then left him, people was pressing buzzers on the ward but they was ignored, nurses just sitting around on mobile phones or looking at a computer screen, the only ones that seemed a little bit helpful was the ones with a tea trolly who said they would get someone two hours later we was told the same thing you will have to wait to se a doctor as he has already had pain relief? oh yes the aspirin.shame on that hospital

Review titled Race Sdec Frailty Emerald
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 December 2024
My elderly mother has been in and out for last 2 years and been seen by the various fraility depts above. The care has been superb by the nurses and doctors and the specialists that came to give advice and keep us updated. They have been thorough and accommodating and listened to our concerns as a family. It's a shame there is no where to thank specific staff by naming them, as some went over and beyond and really show how much they care. Please keep up the amazing work.
