  1. Review titled A and E so busy

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Mike - Posted on 01 May 2024

On arrival at a and e I was seen by a nurse and sent for an xray straight away. While waiting for the results I noticed the sheer amount of people coming in. Over 70 patients in the dept. Some seriously ill. Some people were waiting for plasters and paracetamol. The public could help the staff by not going for such trivial things. It's this that make the people who are poorly have to wait longer. Staff were lovely to me under the strain of huge numbers. When you have 300 people a day coming in it must be very hard to work in.

  3. Review titled Ridiculous waiting times

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Fiz - Posted on 31 May 2024

I’m sat here for the last three hours with my wife. She’s pregnant and continuously bleeding! I went to the front desk and the staff were ice cold and extremely arrogant and kept saying what’s the time on the screen - you been here for 3 hours and the wait time is 3 hrs 45 minutes when clearly a lot of patients who arrived after us were seen by the doctors. I thought a pregnant woman with heavy bleeding is a massive emergency and needs priority !! I’m so confused with the priority list ….. are they waiting for the baby to die ? Seriously no words !!! Absolutely shocking

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Called back for further investigation, my attendance at the Unit was superb from start to finish. The atmosphere was calm and friendly and everyone I dealt with made me feel like I was their only patient that day.

  5. Review titled Ridiculous waiting time 9 hours

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 April 2024

9 year old daughter with a broken wrist was waiting from 3:30am in the morning for 9 hours and no pain relief. When asking about the wait was told it is due to doctors not coming to children's A+E! Seem to have surplus nurses (with seemingly not enough to do) but no doctors. Nurses to allowed to view scans etc - surely a doctor can look at say yes break and action or no break and ask nurses to send home. NHS not working!

  6. Review titled Professional and caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Davies - Posted on 21 April 2024

Scan appointment came through quickly. Seen on time, reassured by radiologist of what she needed to do and how she would do it. She ensured I was comfortable throughout and explained that I would be receiving a referral. She is a credit to the hospital.

  7. Review titled Flooding in ladies washroom when showering in ward 20

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Janet Roake - Posted on 19 April 2024

Disappointing experience of having a shower to freshen up after an appendix operation the water from showering had run a long the floor and under the door and out into the corridor after I finished using the shower room when I stepped outside into the corridor I was quite shocked to see the water had gone way up the corridor thankfully the cleaner was about who noticed it and had started to mop up all the water, I feel that this is a problem that needs to be addressed I feel that something needs to be done regarding the slope on the shower room floor and the drain so that the water drains away properly this can’t keep happening every time some has a shower it just seems to highlight that there is a definite problem that needs to be looked at urgently.

  8. Review titled NHS collapsing

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 April 2024

I attended Milton Keynes A and E on Saturday 27th April. I spent 10 hours in A and E to have a vital blood test for a complex and potentially life threatening condition. I was impressed with the very friendly and caring staff, but sadly they seemed overwhelmed and under pressure. However, a member of staff commented to me that she was grateful the dept was not to busy at the time. A nurse was unable to take my blood I had to wait several hours for a doctor to be free to do so and although the laboratory returned the results in an hour it took five hours for a doctor to be able to spare the time to give me the results. There was no access to food other than a malfunctioning vending machine for chocolate and crisps. Staff commented that they were sad that it had become standard that many people who are very unwell often spend a day or more in the department without direct access to proper food. Even on what the staff describe as a less busy day the department resembles a war zone. There was a clear shortage of doctors and nurses. But this seems to be a situation across many such A and E departments across the country. I am grateful that the NHS still exists, particularly as our private sector is not accessible on such occasions as emergencies and is not affordable for many. But I admit needing to use the NHS now often fills me with fear as waiting times in general have left me to deteriorate and be at risk of dying.

  9. Review titled Friendly & efficient

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 March 2024

I recently attended the hospital for an ultrasound scan and must say that all the staff I encountered were a credit to the NHS. I was seen exactly on time in the department, treated in a polite and friendly manner and all my questions were answered fully. Additionally, the scan report was available to my GP at an appointment (albeit for another purpose) two days later. Top marks and one-in-the-eye for all those who knock the NHS.

  10. Review titled Wonderful Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Miss Amanda Stepney - Posted on 09 February 2024

I was admitted to Ward 21a for day surgery to remove a large lump from my shoulder. I arrived at 7.20 and by 8.30 I had been given a bed, been introduced to the nursing team and met the surgeon and anaesthetist. Everyone was wonderful, so caring and each person took the time to talk to me and explain what would be happened and answer any questions. Every single member of the team, from the porter who wheeled me down to theatre, the nurse who sat with me in recovery, the nurse who prepped me for theatre to the surgical team were incredible. I had to stay overnight and I was so well cared for and made to feel valued and safe. I cannot fault any part of my care and am truly lucky to have the NHS. What a team! Thank you so so much.
