I had an echocardiogram on Friday 15th of March 2024 on ward b15 . The kindness care and attention that was given was absolutely brilliant nothing was too much trouble all staff including Mr fans team were just so reassuring and made me feel so comfortable . I really feel all staff do not get the Recognition of their worth I for one I’m extremely grateful and thank them very very much.

  2. Review titled Rude and ignorant attitude

by Lynne - Posted on 20 March 2024

My brother was admitted to new cross on Monday 18th march. He had collapsed several times has anxiety insomnia and depression through the loss of my mom. He has been being sick and shaking through not keeping food down and dehydration. He was admitted in A and E they were good then to recess they were fantastic lovely people then on Tuesday 19th afternoon was taken to cubicle 2 rapid assessment. The lady that was looking after my brother had a terrible attitude I had asked her what was the yellow fluid in the bag she replied to me very sharp and blunt strong vitamins for alcoholics in a blunt manner. I replied and said I asked you a question in a polite manner I didn't speak to you the way you have just spoken to me she said sorry I have 10 things on my mind and it's the way I am she said. Then I replied my brother has anxiety insomnia and depression he is not an alcoholic she said oh.So in my eyes really deep down her ignorance rudeness towards me and my brother she didn't want to really treat him thinking that in her head and judging thinking that he was a waste of time I am really angry. My brother then was transferred to Amu c58 lovely staff caring and well mannered. Then he was moved to A7 great staff caring and very helpful. I think the nurse on the rapid assessment block should think before judging someone. Unless you have lost loved ones in your life the pain that you go through is unbearable some people cannot cope and it's mental depression. I have asked the other nurses on the other wards what the yellow fluid in the bag was for they said vitamins I said oh we was told they are for alcoholics they said she should never off said that to you.

  3. Review titled Outstanding care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I wanted to say thank you to the consultant in A and E tonight who took time out from a very busy shift to make me feel respected and cared for. This gentleman is very experienced and an expert in what he does but he still spent time getting to the crux of my problem and advising me with a kind and gentle manner. Thank you so much.

  4. Review titled Brilliant care during my miscarriage.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 March 2024

I was unfortunately experiencing a miscarriage. However I became very unwell and I was in extreme pain and had substantial blood loss from my miscarriage when entering the hospital the admin staff who checked us in were brilliant and very caring. After having my obs done I was then shown through to a nurse who immediately saw my discomfort and listened to my concerns, I was then put through to the A&E area where I was greeted by a dr, a nurse and a HCA who were absolutely brilliant. Due to the pain I was in they wasted no time getting some pain relief into my system and to help me during my miscarriage. A dr from gynaecology also came over to support throughout examinations and support me through the difficult time both me and my partner are having. I can’t thank you enough for your support and how well me and my partner were looked after during this hard time. You were all so professional and were all so caring. Thank you so much.

Thank you New Cross for looking after me. I had a massive heart attack and was rushed over for surgery. The team were amazing from start to finish. Super service. We were really impressed with the care I received.

  6. Review titled Day surgery experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lisa Fleming - Posted on 10 February 2024

I came into New Cross to have nasal polyps removed under general anaesthetic. Everyone that I came into contact with was so helpful and caring. I felt able to talk about my nervousness and was genuinely listened to. I was back on the ward very quickly after the procedure and was looked after by a great team of staff. Thank you to all involved.

  8. Review titled Emergency Department Triage is dangerous

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Amanda G - Posted on 04 March 2024

Booked in with chest pain on 20 th Feb. I said less than 48 hours but on the form they put > 48 hours. Why? This was the 5th time this year since having Covid-19 over New Year. 3 times I'd been to sdec. Twice been given prednisolone due to wheezing. Very good care in January.  Sadly in February, re attending with wheezing, chest pain & palpitations a pulmonary embolism has not been excluded.  20th Feb I waited 3 hours with chest pain to be triaged then get an electrocardiogram. The electrocardiogram was not normal for me. I have a copy of my normal. The sister spoke to a consultant twice & I was only triaged to urgent treatment centre to see a gp !! I'd explained I'd been there the day before & the gp couldn't help. I'd told her I'd seen a gp on the morning at a winter pressures hub who couldn't help as he didn't have an ecg, bloods or ctpa facilities.  I went up to utc and asked, if I waited 4 hours, is a gp going to know if I have a pe (blood clot in lung)? They took the paperwork to the nurse in charge & said because emergency department claimed my ecg was normal, they would be happy to see me, but ultimately they wouldn't know if I had a pe or not. It would have been pointless staying. I took the ecg & Paperwork home. On the back of the paperwork the sister hadn't written things that clinically made no sense & also was not what I'd said. I'd also had a raised D-dimer on 13th Feb but nice guidelines weren't followed.  No ctpa or vq scan was done. So I've continued to get worse with chest pain and now daily palpitations.  My oxygen sats have been dropping to 93% since having Covid-19 but now they drop to 89%. I'm deteriorating. I should not have been triaged to Urgent treatment centre. Covid-19 is known to cause pe. Why was I triaged to see a gp in utc? I've had to type words in full or use lower case as you won't take reviews that have words with all capitals. Most medical terminology is all capitals. Please change this.

  9. Review titled Excellent care received

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lorna - Posted on 28 February 2024

On the 19/02/2024 I went to A&E with stroke symptoms early hours of the morning. I was then told to attend the same day emergency care department. I was seen by an excellent Dr; the care I received was exceptional and thorough. I felt cared for and respected every step of the way. Dr was caring and polite. I can’t thank the Dr enough who was over seeing my care and all the staff on same day emergency department. Thank you so much you are amazing.

  10. Review titled Satisfied patient

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Carol - Posted on 02 March 2024

My husband came to Oncology from the Urology dept. He was treated there for Prostrate Cancer for 8 weeks. I cannot fault the dept at all. He was always welcomed by your friendly reception staff nurses and the radiology team making it all a less stressful time. I would appreciate if all of the staff were told this including your cafe staff on the Deansley Unit.
