Dear Relative Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your mum's experience at Newham University Hospital. We are disappointed that we have fallen short of the standard you should expect from our hospital. It is most concerning that you felt that you had no other option but to take your mum home because she was becoming agitated and that nurses were rude to you. We would welcome the opportunity to look into this further and if you would like this to happen, please liaise with the PALS Team on site who will be able to support you. They can be contacted on Tel. No. 020 7363 9292 or via email to nuhpals.bartshealth@nhs.net. Once again, please accept our apologies for you and mum’s experience. Kind regards Barts Health NHS Trust Central Complaints Team

My husband was admitted on and off between June 2023 to September 2023 and yes their were long wait in A&E yes the nurses on the wards perhaps weren’t always as attentive as perhaps anyone would like but to be honest they are beyond stretched to their limits also the doctor were few and far between but all I can say is they are all doing their best so I wish people would be kind. All the staff did their best my husband was transferred to Royal London on 5th September before he came home on 7th September unfortunately he passed away at home on Sunday 10th September I just want to Thank You all for doing the best you could in very difficult circumstances you are heroes to me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart

  8. Review titled Rude and uncaring staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sara - Posted on 05 August 2023

The staff at the reception is extremely rude and unprofessional. I came to a&e for a broken finger and they were chatting with each other and said I should have waited at the entrance (because they were still chatting). After one minute, when they finished their conversation, they called me at the reception. The lady at the reception was extremely rude and dismissive. I felt like I was bothering here. Also other nurses and staff is very rude, they treat you like you are a number. Awful experience, will never come here again

  9. Review titled Would not recommend

Rated 1 star out of 5

Was told to come here by a paramedic via the phone, and once we was seen by a nurse at a and e we got bombarded with questions about why we came here and why we didn’t go to a local hospital. Furthermore even after saying a paramedic had referred us here she continuously blamed us as if it we had known it was better to go to a local hospital. I understand her point about the hospital having records for the patient however we’ve come down to solve a problem but yet feels like we’ve just disturbed them and added on a huge weight onto their shoulders. Another colleague was very dismissive when it came to waiting. Asked a simple question and instead of being nice about they continued to walk off and said to wait. No sympathy whatsoever and just wanted a slight update. I approached nicely but didn’t feel it was reciprocated as it should’ve been by nhs staff.

  10. Review titled Very slow service for kids

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 August 2023

Reach hospital 8.45 keep in waiting until 3am to see a doctor for my 3 yrs old kids. Not even a proper sofa bed for the kids to relax. Only 3-4 kids waiting in the waiting room. Doctor taking 1 hour to see 1 kids. Very shameful for such service. Always under staff. Not priority service for babies and kids.
