  1. Review titled Great Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Helen D Kent - Posted on 19 January 2024

I have just had a mole removed very painlessly and efficiently. The Dr was brilliant, very friendly and puts you at ease and excellent at his job. The HCA was also great. Very helpful and supportive.

  3. Review titled Impossible to reach

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 December 2023

I have been calling the cardiology department for 2 appointments I need do reschedule (I'll be outside of the country for Christmas, and the appointments will be on next Monday so I really need to talk to them to rearrange not to waste an appointment slot) but since last week despite my several calls and messages I left I haven't been able to get a call from them. In this case I will probably lose the chance to rearrange the appointments I've been awaiting for months and I'll lose my chances to be seen because of their lack of ability to do their job. I've tried 20+ times this morning, all I got was either a busy line or an automated message saying sorry they can't take my call. How can we rearrange an appointment without being able to reach the hospital out when it's the only way to do so? I am really disappointed and distressed as a person has severe anxiety and depression problems.

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Please make appointment letters clear that Dermatology appointments are at Alma Clinic not North Middlesex. Do not put North Midd details on letters as many patients come to the wrong location

  6. Review titled Fantastic support and service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 November 2023

I recently had a baby (planned C section for medical reasons). My entire pregnancy I received excellent care from the midwives, consultants, ultrasound staff, physio and everyone I encountered including the maternity ward. It was a red risk pregnancy with many complications and I was so well looked after and all concerns dealt with in detail. I didn’t anticipate such wonderful, professional, patient centred care.

  7. Review titled Fantastic hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Ignore the negative press. North Mid is an amazing hospital. A&e, sdec, radiology and x-ray and oncology departments are outstanding. Care, attention and treatment beyond expectation and every member of staff lovely. This hospital should get far more credit than it does for the outstanding care it provides.

  8. Review titled GP surgery Ponders End for hospital dermatology appointment

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Heather Rowland - Posted on 25 August 2023

I was referred to North Middx hospital for a dermatology 2ww appointment. The appointment came through and was held at a GP surgery in Ponders End, Enfield. The surgery were very unhelpful on arrival as to where I needed to go as clinic was nothing to do with them. The Dr I saw was fine but his assistants didn’t seem interested or listening to Drs instructions when being asked to take photos.

  10. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Florence - Posted on 10 August 2023

I had been referred by the GP to go to a&e. I checked in at aprox 9.45am and sat down. At 12pm I thought, I have been waiting ages let me go check. I go up and the same receptionist tells me that I should have gone to the main hospital to the eye clinic. She had never said this to me when I checked in and so I was very upset to have wasted nearly 2 hours. So I go to the eye clinic and am told the woman who checks you in is on lunch so was told ‘well you can sit down but nothing will happen until after 1pm anyway’. Absolutely appalled by the service here and the lack of caring from the staff. I’m also by myself and this whole ordeal has been very stressful.

Dear Florence, Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention. We are very sorry to hear that your experience at North Middlesex University Hospital did not meet the required standards. Your feedback is important to us and we would like to reassure you that staff work very hard to continuously provide high standards of care. We apologise that you were not directed correctly by the receptionist to the eye clinic which caused you distress and delayed your treatment. A reminder has been sent to all staff including bank staff to ensure that any instructions are explained in a clear and concise manner to all patients. From the perspective of the Ophthalmology service, we are sorry that the communication had not properly been explained to you when you attended the eye casualty. We recognise any visit to an emergency service can be a trying time for people and the lunch break for the member of staff involved should have been explained in a more professional way. Once again please accept our apologies for any distress caused to you. Kind regards, Joanne Johnson ED Admin Manager & Alan Dobbie (Ophthalmology) Patient Pathway Coordinator
