Review titled Let my child leave in pain
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 May 2023
Took my child to A&E in pain. He wasn't seen after waiting for hours. Was told to go straight to GP for bloods. Got to GP and was told there were no bookable appointments. We stood in the car park whilst he was crying in pain. We're home now and he's still crying in pain whilst I try to find a private Dr

Good afternoon, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review on your child's experience. We are very sorry to hear that your child did not have a positive experience when visiting the Paediatric Emergency Department at NGH and that you had been waiting so long whilst your child was in so much pain. This must have been very distressing for your child and yourself. If you would like to speak to someone about this please contact the Patient Experience Department on **01604 544054 or 544135** or email **ngh-tr.PatientExperience@nhs.net** and we will do our best to help. Review titled The nightmare that is the car park
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by mason e edwards - Posted on 15 May 2023
This us without doubt one of the worst car parks I have ever used.,,- poorly signposted poorly laid out,.and with no.discernible traffic flow system. The directional signing is poor. Exit and entry signs not visible from.car level. It fails on every level Someone should spend a day there to.see how nightmarish it is.. visitors who.are anxious and worried.end up.even more so.after just a few minutes attempting to.find a parking spot. This should not happen

Review titled Great staff let down by triage system
by matarwg75 - Posted on 31 March 2023
Referred to A&E by GP, I don't think the triage system in place works very well - before you can even say what's ailing you, you have to sit and wait, which for us was over 1 hour, to then tell someone what was wrong and be booked in after another 1 hour wait to have observations, which consisted of a BP check, then allowed in main A&E to sit and wait another 4 hours. Felt sorry for the security guard who was trying to sort everyone out in order of arrival but it felt like a free for all basically, after waiting so long some patients were in the wrong area and were diverted somewhere else. Given that my ailment was possible heart attack, waiting 4 hours to even get to the main A&E wasn't the best plan, in my opinion. Having the main receptionist initially ask you what you were there for would have cut out waiting to be seen and then referred to Springfield or minors or wherever . 111 patients were becoming irate as they were told a time to attend and then told to get in the queue with the rest of us so their expectations were not being met - in my view, 111 staff should not be telling them their appointment is a certain time, as this just annoyed them even more and the poor security guard was taking the brunt of it all. Staff are doing an amazing job, it's the system that's not working, too many processes to go through before you are even seen.

Review titled Great care and treatment
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 March 2023
I’ve had a hip replacement. Today and whilst I’ve been here the nurses & doctors have been very good. At looking after me on the ward. The consultant I’ve had has been amazing and the surgeons have also been really good trying to keep me calm before my surgery. So thank you.

An A&E visit due to great organisation only 2 1/2 hours from entering to leaving having had an X-ray as well. Can’t rate highly enough after having completed cancer treatment as well this year.

Review titled Car Parking
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 February 2023
While I accept the car parking is a known problem, the now running by a contractor and the issuing of fines (I saw three on my last visit) very sad. We are visiting under stress you cannot find a space panicky because you are late, or you appointment over runs, then to get a ticket is not really in the spirit of a hospital. It makes me really sad to see it

Review titled Amazing People
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Owen Pickering - Posted on 17 February 2023
Today marks the end of my very long treatment at Northampton General Hospital starting well over 5 years ago the staff have been absolutely amazing. It's the staff that really make this place work! I have loved my time here and the treatment has been brilliant. Absolutely no regrets at all! I will miss the staff in the department so much and hopefully one day I may see them again. I have gotten to know them over the years and being their longest distance patient it makes the journey well worth it! Thank you again for everything! Maxillofacial team!
