Review titled Fantastic A&E service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jaisukh Lakhani - Posted on 24 September 2023
I had severe chest, back and arm pain. I called my doctor but they were fully booked and refused to see me and was told to call 111 . I was advised to go to Northwick Park hospital by them. All the staff, and especially the Doctor and nurses on duty at 7pm on 20th Sept were absolutely fantastic carrying out all the tests efficiently and explaining what was going on at the same time. I was very impressed and am grateful to them. Fortunately it was not serious. It is heart-warming to know that there is care when required. I was dreading going to hospital with so much negative press about hospital but my view has changed for the better.

Review titled Bad experience in A&E department
by mitpatx23 - Posted on 25 August 2023
We booked an appointment for injury. They told us for waiting 3-4 hours Every hour we asked for our turn and everytime they told please wait . After 4 hour we asked again and then they told us that you are discharged and your treatment is done. I was shocked, how its possible? But then I asked other people who were waiting and they said they also got same answer. I asked about my concern and then they told me to book the appointment again and wait. Again I was shocked I already waited 4 hours and again I have to wait. Then manager came and sorted it out but after 1 hour. That's the service I got from NHS.

Dear mitpatx23, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback regarding your recent visit to A&E at Northwick Park Hospital. I’m sorry to hear your frustration regarding waiting times. Waiting times are dependent on activity and acuity levels and often differ from what 111 shares. Patients are first triaged when seen at both A&E and UCC. This of course should have been communicated to you so apologies if this was not done. If you would like to look into this further please contact our PALS team who will be able to assist you. PALS phone number - 020 8869 5118, PALS email - LNWH-tr.PALS@nhs.net Thank you once again and I hope you are making a healthy recovery from your injury. Kind Regards, Emma Calnan – Patient Experience Officer

Review titled My wife passed out so called 999
by Gratefull 2all - Posted on 13 September 2023
My wife passed out in bed and could not bring her round. Dialled 999 and ambulance arrived within 10 minutes, thought she had had stroke and rushed to A & E Northwick Park, Diagnosed not stroke and admitted to cardiology ward, while there heart stopped twice and rushed to theatre where pace maker was fitted. 24 hours later home and well. Would like to sincerely thank caring and efficient Ambulance crew and all staff in A&E and especially cardiology ward on 9th floor for their care professionalism and outstanding service. In our opinion in cases of emergency the NHS is unbeatable. Thank you all so much. Best wishes

Dear Sir/ Madam, Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit to A&E and I believe Jenner Ward. Although this sounds like a very difficult time it's very pleasing to read how well your wife was looked after from beginning to end and that all of the staff that you came into contact with treated your wife with outstanding care. We will of course share your very kind words with the staff in the A&E department and Jenner ward who I am sure will be very heartened to hear that their good work has been recognised in such a way. unfortunately I am unable share your feedback with the ambulance crew as they do not work for our Trust. As we often have ambulances from multiple boroughs I am able to share a contact with you. If you do wish to share your feedback with them may I suggest finding what London Ambulance service you received and then you will be able to find the correct contact to share your kind words to online. Thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience with us. I hope your wife is in good health. Kind Regards, Emma Calnan - Patient Experience Officer

Review titled The worst experience ever.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Michael Stone - Posted on 18 August 2023
The NHS 111 emergency service staff i spoke to were amazing. They understood my problem and how to try and solve it and booked me in but unfortunately, the hospital staff couldn't seem to care. I was in so much pain and after explaining the situation, they just said, sorry but there's a queue. Well after waiting for 3 hours i just left. I realise queues exist but i was in such terrible pain and believe it could have been avoided. I'm now booked in to see my local doctor who should be able to help with the pain by booking me in to my local hospital thankfully! I explained at the time that i really didn't want to go the N.Prk. Hosp. but they persuaded me. Never again!

Review titled Exceptional medical care
by Somyd99 - Posted on 12 July 2023
I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the outstanding care and support I received during my recent surgery at your esteemed hospital. I am incredibly thankful for the professionalism, expertise, and compassion demonstrated by the entire medical team throughout my journey. From the moment I arrived at the hospital, I was greeted with warmth and kindness. The registration and admission process was well-organized and efficient, and the staff members were courteous and attentive to my needs. Their reassuring demeanor helped alleviate any anxiety I had, and I felt genuinely cared for from the very beginning. Overall, I would rate my experience at your hospital a perfect 10 out of 10. The exceptional level of care, combined with the compassion and professionalism exhibited by every member of the staff, exceeded my expectations. I am truly grateful for the outstanding medical care and support I received during this challenging time. Once again, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire medical team, including the surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and support staff, for their dedication and commitment to providing exceptional care. Please convey my appreciation to all those involved in my surgery. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to excellence. I will highly recommend your hospital to friends, family, and anyone in need of exceptional medical care. With sincere thanks and warm regards

Review titled Lazy accepting patience
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 July 2023
My child had a face injury. And we went to Middlesex hospital. A Doctor saw us and referred us. He called this department they told him we are accepted. We had to come Northwick Park hospital and we should be seen when we come. When we arrived we had to book in (even though we were told we were booked). When we saw the nurse she called them to confirm the booking. They said no, the patient is to see a A&E doctor and do assesment again to be seen by them so they refused. There is no common sense, this why I would straight come to A&E rather than any other place. Because the system does not work. When you are told you are booked, you are not. When you are told the department accepted you, you are not. When you are promised (even in writing) that you just have to turn up and that department will see you. They will not. Thanks A

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry you and your child did not have the experience you both should of had when visiting our Urgent Care and Accident and Emergency departments. I understand how frustrating this must of been. I have passed your feedback directly onto the services involved and they wanted to apologise for the additional distress caused to you and your child. There is no “quick” route into the A&E and we are sorry if you were lead to believe or promised differently. All patients presenting to the A&E Department are seen in order of clinical priority. This includes those who are asked to attend via another hospital Urgent Care and/or via London Ambulance Service. In A&E, we see all patients as quickly as possible and this does depend on activity levels and acuity of waiting patients. Of course, we know how challenging it can be for young children waiting and we do this on board and try our very best to avoid extended waiting times, where we can. I understand if you would like this looked into further, however, as this is anonymous platform, I will provide you with our PALS details to get in contact with. They can be emailed on: LNWH-tr.PALS@nhs.net or called on: 020 8869 5118. I am sorry again for your experience and do hope that your child is recovering well.
