  1. Review titled To long wait

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 July 2023

Came in at 10.30pm to be seen at children's ED for my son, - for potential loss of hearing not been seen for over 4 hours- bearing in mind for 8 year old to be awake in early hours is quite restless and anxious more with hearing. Whilst here there was a little child in severe arm pain and crying and was still not seen in those 4 hours- his dad constantly asking to be seen. Surely doctors should prioritise the little kids, especially crying in pain. The wait time is atrocious.

Thank you for sharing your experience of our children’s A&E department we understand how distressing it can be when waiting in the emergency department, particularly with a child who is acutely unwell. Please be assured we welcome all feedback so that we can look at services and improve them wherever we can. The emergency department can be unpredictable at times due to the severity of illnesses that present themselves and these have to be seen in priority of urgency. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience during this time and I truly hope that your son is feeling much better now. Nottingham University hospitals.

  2. Review titled Amazing care & treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Maisey Coulson - Posted on 04 July 2023

I went to the Treatment Centre Day Surgery today for a procedure and from start to finish i was so cared for, informed and looked after. I would especially like to say a hugeeee thank you to my nurse who settled my nerves throughout my time there, the lovely anaesthetist who was kind and reassuring when putting me to sleep, along with the lady who just talked to me to take my mind off it & finally the lady who sat with me in recovery who i was just speaking rubbish to, but humoured me nonetheless & wrapped me up in warm blankets. Everything was so well organised and i have nothing bad to say! Even to the point where a kind nurse gave me a freezing cold bottle of water as we had a long drive home. Just amazing! Huge thank you for everything and keeping me safe xx

  3. Review titled Outstanding A & E experiences

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Unfortunately, I have had two visits, during July 2023. Each time the staff were very busy. They treated everyone with respect. Giving individuals their time. On both occasions the doctors, were able to give me an understanding of my heart problems. Which has enable move forward with tests. Thanks, to all concerned, their efforts are greatly appreciated I hope their terms & conditions are improved.

  4. Review titled Excellent Service 5 Stars

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by E J Porter - Posted on 30 June 2023

Arrived by Ambulance. Very busy. Long queues of people on trolleys. When seen excellent standards of care. Everyone seemed very efficient and were all very pleasant people. Lots of tests with seemingly very quick results. Could not praise the whole organisation too highly. Very well done and I for one am grateful. Many Thanks. Special mention for the lady outside in the corridor. She seemed annoyed and grumpy mutterings under her breath! However as the hours went by it was obvious that she was exceptionally hard working organising everything. Clearly a motivated and invaluable employee. Well done.

  8. Review titled Felt abandoned

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Millie Ridgway - Posted on 08 July 2023

Such a shame to write this as I had a good start and it just went downhill, I came in with my daughter(1 day old) and she had surgery the same night we arrived and they were excellent with her, couldn’t knock them. Her recovery was going so well after and she got moved upstairs to the children ward which was meant to be a step closer to bringing her home after we spent 2 weeks being in neonatal with her. However it wasn’t, we was told no plan for a discharge date after being here for 3 weeks , the doctors forgot about her for a whole day when they was meant to do a flush on her which was meant to be done twice a day and they didn’t show up once to see her , the nurses agreed that she is fine to go home ,however we just needed consent from the surgeon to let her go ,he hadn’t been to see her once since the surgery and wasn’t prioritising her at all. We felt so abandoned and not cared about. He definitely didn’t rush to get her home. We spent days and days sitting here with no progress at all and am currently still here.

My visit to the department started with an anxious feeling wondering how long I would be there.Right from the start I was treated with courtesy and great attitude. Every member I dealt with from Blood tests,ECG's,X Ray,Doctor consultation, down to reception staff, were above and beyond helpful. Take a bow. I was deeply thankful and appreciative.

  10. Review titled So poor it was downright inhumane

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Judith Wrigley - Posted on 02 July 2023

My GP sent me to A&E for a scan having diagnosed a kidney stone. No one at A&E would even look at the letter she sent me with, so examinations and tests were repeated after hours of waiting. I was there for 9 hours with no pain relief - there is a sign telling patients to ask for it, but good luck actually managing that, and when you finally do, they won't give you pain relief anyway, because they haven't got your notes. There is a water fountain, with teeny cups, so I got very dehydrated in that painful, desperately uncomfortable 9 hours. The next day my GP suggested that I was so dehydrated I should go back to A&E for a saline drip. I refused to go back. To quote Fawlty Towers, I have seen better organised things running round farmyards with their heads cut off. I know there are staff shortages, but this is massively compounded by a level of organisation that any primary school teacher could improve upon. The whole experience was a disgrace.
