  1. Review titled Received great care, CT scan lad is an asset!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Carlin Rogers - Posted on 30 April 2023

Was cared for to a great standard- given it was Saturday night so busy with drunks. I was made to feel very well looked after by all of the emergency department staff- thankyou! I’d like to give praise to the CT radiographer (young Asian lad).. he is very good at his job and has excellent people skills, he is definitely a great asset to the QMC and NHS.. thankyou mate!

  2. Review titled Eye Injury

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Laura Paterson - Posted on 22 April 2023

I attended on 21st April, the eye casualty. I'd damaged my eye and was in a lot of pain. 111 told me to head in. I registered and was triaged within half an hour. The nurse I saw, put pain relief and dye in my eye and saw that I'd scratched right across the front of my eye. She double checked the back of my eye to make sure it was okay. She explained that I didn't need to see a doctor and recommended an abx eye drop I could use. She told me it would start to feel better in a couple of days. She was friendly and explained things well. Great job thank you.

  3. Review titled Can't fault my aftercare

    by Peter923 - Posted on 19 May 2023

Don't remember much about the first hour. Went in hospital at 12:00 and was back home at 18:30 the next evening, feeling as if nothing had been amateur. Can't fault my aftercare.

  5. Review titled Outstanding care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Emily Coupe - Posted on 28 April 2023

My son had to have a procedure on the short stay surgical ward. From start to finish the care was absolutely outstanding. My son has a very negative view of hospitals from past experiences (not at this site) so was very scared when coming to this hospital. From the very beginning he was made to feel at ease. The play specialist that came down was absolutely brilliant! She kept him calm and laughing in a situation where he would normally be crying and scared! The nurses on shift were also as brilliant! Really knew how to keep my son calm and to make the experience less scary! After the surgery the nurse was sure to have a ham sandwich to hand as promised! You should be really proud of this unit. No mother wants to see her son go through having to be put to sleep and the recovery, but with the team that was on it made that experience that little bit easier. I cannot even begin to describe how brilliant this team is. Thankyou! So much! (And my son is still talking about the ham sandwiches!)

I will pass this feedback onto the team that looked after him and we hope that he is recovering well now. Please be assured that if you ever need us again we are here for you and will even make sure we also have a good supply of those ham sandwiches!! Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lucy - Posted on 03 March 2023

Came to a&e with extreme chest pains. Got seen very quickly and checked. Reached the utu department and they were incredible! Can’t rate this department highly enough! The care and dedication to their field was remarkable. The doctor I saw was professional and friendly when discussing things and had a really warm and brilliant attitude.

  9. Review titled Full of admiration

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Susan Mcnab - Posted on 28 April 2023

I am a 71 year old retired journalist. This submission is in praise of the treatment I received over a 14 hour stay from the middle of the night to the middle of the afternoon in QMC majors. Every member of staff behaved towards me in an exemplary fashion, despite the department being very busy. There was not only top class care from consultants and other doctors, but also from nurses, radiologists and every member of staff I encountered. Care and kindness was in great supply. Well done all!

  10. Review titled Treated with respect

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 March 2023

I have visited QMC once before and not had a good experience so when my GP referred me to eye casualty I was very nervous. However I just wanted to say that I had a very positive experience in this department. I was seen quickly and all the staff (receptionist too) were so caring and respectful. I felt really listened too and I have some follow up appointments which don’t seem quite as daunting so thank you very much to all the staff in eye casualty
