We attended eye clinic in June 2023 after getting there and waiting we were told the doctors were not there and was told to rebook. We then rebooked 3weeks later and the sat and waited 2hours to see doctor. Something needs sorting

  4. Review titled Trying to cancel a appointment

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Roy saxton - Posted on 11 July 2023

I wished to cancel appointment as I would be on holiday,I tried various phone numbers myself approx 12 times, my son also carried on trying while I was away. In total 20 plus calls, we were cut off 4 times after waiting 20-35 mins. No message or email service I find this unacceptable. Wrote a letter in the end when I returned from hol don’t know what else I can do . Do they purposely not have email contact ? I must add once appointment is attended the treatment by all staff is excellent, but admin contact needs attention.

  5. Review titled Fantastic service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Julie - Posted on 07 June 2023

I want to thank everyone from the nurses to the consultant in the rheumatology clinic, I have been suffering for a long time and at last I am taking seriously, the consultant was compassionate and listened to my concerns and was willing to help me whatever he can.

  6. Review titled Communication

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Mrs Wendy Berbank - Posted on 12 June 2023

I have tried for six working days to contact ophthalmology, sometimes up to ten times a day and cannot speak to anyone to make my mother an urgent eye appointment. This is disgraceful.

  7. Review titled Poor service rude under resourced

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Walfrin patience not able to book an appointment so I bring my mother at before 7am to take a ticket. At 8.30 still not seen as staff dealing with appointments only! Walfrin patients have places to be and jobs to go to. Why do they not apply a common sense approach and split the team to address appointments and Tickets??? On too many occasions I find I am late starting work due to this under resourced disorganised rude team, I pity the individuals and can’t begin to imagine how demoralising it is for them to work under this pressure. Unfortunately my patience is now exhausted!

Trying to speak to opthamology dept re my appointment this week. Might as well be flying to the moon. Phone numbers on my letter are irrelevant. In the end gave up. Sent a text on my phone. Fingers crossed.

Over the last few years I have had appointments for blood tests at Orpington Hospital. Each time I have visited ,the punctuality and efficiency of the department has been excellent.

  10. Review titled One terrible staff member

Rated 1 star out of 5

There is a health care assistant who works in pre-assessment clinic who is awful. They have no bedside manner. They speak over you without listening. They offer you information you didn’t ask for in an attempt to get you to leave them alone. I have worked in the NHS for many years, as have my family. I have never experienced an employee like this. I don’t know where they were trained but they ought to have a refresher. I arrived and wanted to use the bathroom, every time I tried to ask where the bathroom was they told me to fill in a form. I tried to ask if I needed to fill the form in before I use the bathroom. They spoke over me. It took 3 minutes for this person to be quiet and hear what I was saying. Later I had to call the clinic and unfortunately they picked up the phone. Again they spoke and spoke and spoke, telling me what they wanted to tell me without listening to what I was actually calling about. I asked for the matron’s name and they were reluctant to give it to me. I’m hardly surprised - they must receive a lot of complaints about their rudeness. It takes nothing to be polite. And by listening to others you can have a greater understanding of what is happening. Someone needs to tell this person that. Perhaps it will be the clinic matron.
