  1. Review titled Amazing team.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 March 2024

I had to visit the eye A&E and was terribly nervous. I was treated with such kindness both by a lovely nurse and by the ophthalmologist. They were patient, kind and understanding and thoroughly examined my eye, painlessly, and giving me my diagnosis. I thoroughly recommend this unit.

  2. Review titled Extremely rude triage nurse

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 February 2024

I came to the Charles Eye until emergency with my child today and was shocked how the woman in triage spoke to us. We waited an hour to be seen by the triage person who didn’t say who she was and didn’t listen to us. She was patronising and really is a bad example of how patients should be treated by staff. The receptionist was perfectly friendly so this one bad apple spoils the reputation of the department.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the eye casualty. Absolutely wonderful receptionists and nurses all kind and polite. Had quite a long wait due to staff changeover but all the ophthalmic doctors were great to. Wonderful that students are also being trained by such caring teams it bodes well for the future. Clear diagnosis and treatment and advice. NHS at it's best. Keep up the great work. Some of your other sites could learn a lot from the professionalism of this unit!!
