Review titled Emergency care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ieuan Moreton - Posted on 14 September 2024
I was admitted to emergency care on Tuesday with elevated heart rate, high temp and breathing difficulties. I was diagnosed with an infection and spent time on the emergency ward, then a short time on Ward 10. I want to thank all staff both paramedics and hospital staff who cared for me and my wife at this difficult time. This experience reaffirms my belief that we have a great nhs and we need to do what is necessary to support those who work in it. We saw great care and professionalism under what can be describes as challenging at times. Thank you so much to all. Glad to be here to write this review you were amazing.

My girlfriend went in for a ruptured ACL tear and they didn’t care about her leg at all. At one stage she was sick down herself and they didn’t change and they let wee herself as they ignored the buzzer to the point where she ended up wetting the bed

Women and children’s part of the hospital has some amazing midwives but some didn’t take into consideration when I was reporting an issue with myself after giving birth which led to other issues Also the neonatal ward treated my baby with such good care and I am thankful for this

Review titled Some good, some not so good
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Good - parking was ok but not cheap, staff helpful particularly in the outside ambulance reception area which is a great idea and appears to work really well. Head porter I spoke to rang around trying to locate my mum, felt like above and beyond from him. Bad - sort your telephone system out! I rang after 8pm (I now know phones are open 8 to 8) last night and got passed around between long dial tones, std uk dial tones and music for 20 minutes. I sort of accept that as it’s after hours. What I don’t accept is someone taking the call this morning and struggling to understand my questions (in my opinion very clearly spoken by me and almost free of an accent). Secondly, getting the same poor experience on hold as last night for 8 minutes. I dialled off determined to complain. ps, just trying again at 11:35 am, same issue as above... Also, your “dedicated” complaint link is down! You appear to be concentrating on patient health, as far as I know my mum is still ok so kpi achieved I guess. However behind each patient is a group of worried family and friends who would like updates.

Review titled Excellent experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jayne Williams - Posted on 13 August 2024
My visit to A and E was very positive despite being in pain following a fall. From triage to x ray and treatment ,for what turned out to be two fractured wrists I was fully informed about procedures and felt supported. The staff in the Minor Injuries Department were excellent and the Practice Nurse was outstanding. The whole process from triage to leaving with wrists supported in casts took just over two hours. My sincere thanks to the excellent A and E team,

Had a really great experience today at the pru. Arrived at radiology, the radiologist was professional, prompt and informative. Sent through to A&E who were also very organised and prompt and professional. Overall was seen and diagnosed with bones broken on my foot. Fitted with a boot and left. Very good service today. Thank you for your help.

Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jane Pearce - Posted on 15 June 2024
I had the best experience at my appointment this morning. I had trouble finding where I needed to be and everyone was really helpful. The staff in the unit were amazing and friendly putting me completely at my ease. It was a difficult appointment for me but they all made it so easy and I felt comfortable. Thank you everyone concerned.

Review titled A Day In The Country (from a Brightonian's Perspective)
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Day surgery for a lumpectomy couldn't have been more fun in the Hurstwood Park Centre. Professionalism and kindness in abundance. Everyone - nurses, student nurses, doctors and surgeons did their jobs brilliantly. Entered tredpidaciously and left on a high - and it wasn't just the morphine! Thanks all round.
