  1. Review titled Busy department with professional staff.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 August 2023

The staff were helpfull and efficient. A 10 hrs wait but this was mainly waiting for a doctor to read and feedback blood results. Once this was done a bed was found. There was a junior doctors strike but the staff managed this. All tests were done and staff checked on us and provided food. A problem I picked up on while waiting from other patients was a refusal by their GP to see them and treat their conditions. Overall a positive experience. Gratefull.

Having to have a colonoscopy I was scared, from the moment I stepped into reception I was put at ease. Excellent service from every single person I met from reception all through to recovery room. Thank you all. Keep up the good work.

  4. Review titled Overworked Doctors, horribly inefficient admin service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 July 2023

My wife found herself at A&E in Telford and waited 2 hours before even being triaged! Having observed the administrative operation over the course of that time, there was a lot of nurses milling about not seeing to patients and, in general, a very slow moving service. We were on the verge of leaving after yet more time wasted post-triage, when were were seen by a GP in urgent care. Following up on his referral to our own GP, no notes had been passed through to our local GP for over a week. Trying to call the A&E admin to ask them to forward the referral on has been horrendous! No one in A&E answers the phone to deal with any queries. The main switchboard keep putting you through to a number that rings out and is never answered. On one call, merely to ask about the notes, I waited 20 minutes, listening to a phone ring. It's a good job the A&E isn't an Emergency Service! My advice? Find another more capable hospital and more efficiently run practice.

  5. Review titled Midwifes

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I’ve not long experienced labour and delivery at prh. The care I received when I was there was amazing in the 2 nights I stayed in from being induced to delivering my baby. The midwife I had on that night was amazing and looked after me through it all, especially having a first time baby it’s scary as you do not know what to expect. Even the ladies in the postnatal ward made sure I was okay at all times and gave me really useful tips when it come to feeding my baby. Me and my partner would just like to say a big thank you.

  6. Review titled Poor conditions for autistics in A&E waiting rooms

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 July 2023

As an autistic person, accident and emergency care is an extremely daunting and unpleasant service to have to use. The noise within the waiting area, and the abundance of patients seeking care, with doctors and nurses having to shout over the noise to call people in to be seen. After requiring A&E services on the 5th of July 2023, I was forced into this setting. Sensory overload was a constant throughout the roughly 5 hours I spent there. Even after being called into the small, quieter waiting room I found the conditions sensorially very difficult. Lots of beeping, docor and nurse conversations, and the door slamming directly behind me, made me excessively uncomfortable still, despite its relative quietness when compared to the main waiting area. In light of this, it makes sense to have a sectioned off quiet area, for people who legitimately require it. My autism should be on your systems, so it shouldn't be hard to identify those patients who would benefit from such a practice.

  7. Review titled Really good

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lauren - Posted on 08 July 2023

I went in this morning due to having problems with my ear/ hearing. I was almost put off from going thinking I’d be waiting a long time and it’d probably be nothing. I went and within minutes of arriving, I was called through. Unfortunately, I did not get the doctors name but she was amazing. But feel she deserves recognition. She was patient, listened carefully and was very understanding but best of all, she was accommodating to my hearing loss and current hearing problems. Thank you for making me feel seen and heard

  8. Review titled wonderful care and compassion

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We brought my daughter into A and E in very distressing circumstances. The care and compassion with which she was treated by nursing staff and doctors was outstanding and as a parent I felt looked after also. The consultant on duty made sure he came and spoke to us before she was discharged. Huge thanks to the A and E team at the Princess Royal.

  9. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Our 99year Uncle passed away peacefully in Ward 17 on Monday morning. A very frail gentleman who suffered a heart attack on the 5th June. From being admitted to A&E, AMU and then to Ward 17 he received excellent care. My wife and I stayed overnight on Sunday 11th where we received kindly care from the Staff, they went out of their way to make us comfortable and gave our Uncle loving tender care during his last hours. We shall be forever grateful to the dedicated professional staff who were there for us at an anxious time.

My daughter was admitted in the evening - I appreciate how busy it is but I could not got through to the department- no one answered the phone - this is absolutely unacceptable in my opinion- why can’t there be a named person to at least answer the phone
