  1. Review titled Poor service.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Follow up fracture clinic. Seen by orthopaedic surgeon. Not friendly at all. Offered no reassurance. Asked if I was doing swimming or physic. I was not advised to do this and not referred either. I asked a few simple questions and he did not answer them. I would have liked details of the exact diagnosis. Any alternative treatments, How long does it take to heal. Nothing at all offered or given. Gave as little as possible to just get rid of me. Disgusting service. Really disappointing. From start to finish.

  2. Review titled Brilliant caring service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Heidi drake - Posted on 03 April 2023

My grandson was very Ill and could not get to see a dr in his own surgery. The staff and drs in qa hospital were first class checking to see if he had glandular fever or other illnesses . He was not able to swallow any tablets so they arranged liquid antibiotics. And also arranged a future appointment with his own doctor. Something we had not been able to do. All the staff at qa are first class and unfortunately are also overloaded with patients who cannot get to see their own gps.

  4. Review titled Well done.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was admitted yesterday for a pacemaker box change. As this is done under local anaesthetic l was understandably nervous. I found all the staff, from reception up to and including the consultant who performed the actual surgery, extremely sympathetic and reassuring. I benefitted from the latest in plasma incisions and welcome sedation and was extremely pleased to be discharged home by 5 pm. A big thankyou to all the team. PS worth every penny of their raise.

  7. Review titled Awful Experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 March 2023

I can into A&E with severe abdo pains after being referred by my GP. When I arrived I was triaged quite quickly and sent straight through to a bed in Majors. Then I was left for nearly an hour before I was seen by a nurse who went through my symptoms. At that point I was told I could have some pain relief. I didn’t receive the pain relief for another hour and a half and that was asking multiple times for it. Another hour later the nurse came to take some blood from me. He tried on two places and went straight through the vein both times leaving a large lump in my arm and hand creating a lot of pain. I asked him to stop. He then left me and another 45 mins went by before a Dr came to examine me. The Dr then went to take some blood, failing on the first two attempts then succeeding on the 3rd. He then left saying nothing further. All of a sudden another nurse came in and started to wheel me out of the cubicle, I was then placed in a corridor with no explanation as to why. When I asked another senior nurse nearby I was told it was so they could make room and that I just had to wait. Eventually a porter arrived to take me for an X-ray (which I wasn’t told about by the dr of the nurse previously). Eventually the Dr came to advise that my X-ray and blood results were all good and that I could go home and take some pain relief, the same pain relief that I had already advised I had been taking at home and did not help. He the. Told me if it persisted to speak to my GP, but it was my who sent my to QA in the first place. I am absolutely dumbfounded by the lack of interest, care and compassion received by the staff I saw. Out of everyone I spoke to, it was the Porter who was the most helpful. I am now home, still in pain and no better off having gone for medical help. I will certainly be avoiding this hospital in the future.

  8. Review titled Fabulous service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Patricia Parker - Posted on 25 March 2023

I attended the Rheumatology dept on the 23rd March and saw my usual consultant. The service this department delivers is nothing short of miraculous. They have looked after me for 10 years now, always there when I need them. Appointments are on time, the staff are efficient and friendly at all times and I can't thank them enough for their exemplary care.

  10. Review titled Individually impressive member of staff

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Greenham - Posted on 16 March 2023

My husband and I visited the mobile CT scanner at qa hospital.we particularly wanted to leave a review about the amazing senior nurse manning the waiting room on Thursday, but weirdly praise for a named individual is not allowed. The unnamed nurse made her patients relaxed and put them at ease in a professional and caring way. She is the sort of person who new staff, nurses and doctors, should shadow in order to learn this priceless skill. Anyone can acquire knowledge, just read a book, it requires a very special person to display genuine empathy and kindness.
