Review titled Professional and caring staff.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by David Healey - Posted on 24 June 2024
My journey through radiology treatment was made a lot easier with the support of all the team. They were so helpful and went out of their way to look after the patients, some being in a lot worse situation than me. A ready smile and comforting comment goes a long way when your not sure what to expect. The facilities are first class. 4 machines, and any occasional delays were communicated to us. One minor comment; It can be noisy in the big waiting room and difficult to hear your name called unless the nurses shout. Free parking for the duration is a big bonus. Thank you all, and I love the free socks!

Review titled Worst department at QA
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 27 August 2024
need reassessing as oringinal diagnosis was inconclusive yet I was bullied into taking the cPAP machine which now is stopping me from receiving the surgery I need due to the arrogance of the staff in this department refusing to retest me. Machine leaves me with daily headaches, my ears need to pop constantly like being on a plane and I always have a fuzzy feeling head. no one listens

Review titled Very efficient service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

From doing an Econsult to sitting in the breast services department was just about 3 weeks. The clinic was very full but it all ran smoothly and all of the staff were friendly, polite and empathetic. I came away having had a mammogram and a thorough examination by a consultant knowing that I didn’t have anything to worry about. It was an eye opener to see so many women there today, all feeling the same anxiety. Thank goodness we have such a brilliant service. Thanks to everyone in the department

Rated 1 star out of 5
by Lee Wright - Posted on 09 May 2024
Invited us in for induction got in for for 10 am nearly been 12 hours of sitting in a labour ward with back pain no pain relief literally no updates as to what is happening. She has twins in her stomach already had two kidney infections been admitted twice into hospital none of this seems to matter. Feel extremely neglected, she could of been in the comfort of our own home rather than suffering like this we keep getting told soon absolute shambles

Review titled Emergency Department amazing
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Lisa - Posted on 13 May 2024
Saturday afternoon had an emergency with Dad and the paramedics that attended arrived quickly and were brilliant with him, they were so calm and made everyone feel so reassuring but with Dad they were amazing and they looked after him so well and got him to emergency fast. The a and e was jammed packed with ambulances and people but they rushed him into an area in Resus and Trauma. The 2 doctors dealing with him were brilliant and the more senior one took us to a relatives room and he explained everything, he told no lies and laid the worst case scenario out. Everything they did they talked us through and when they'd made Dad more comfortable we went back and sat with him. The young nurse was caring and helpful, went and got us chairs and made sure we were comfortable. They kept checking on him. They called a surgeon in and we were awaiting for him to arrive, in the meantime the anesthetist came in and spoke to Dad and us being reassuring and explaining everything. He was really nice and the 2 paramedics had come back in and checked on him whilst bringing another call in, they again were amazing. Then this Doctor came in and considering he'd been called in, he was brilliant. He was so caring and explained everything he was going to do, and made Dad feel at ease because he was worrying, in fact we all were. They took our mobile numbers and we waited in the hospital while he went to theatre and they said they would call us when they had news and they did. They did everything they said they would do and let us see him after the surgery which was early hours of the morning, nothing was too much trouble for them and they had so much care. Everyone who was involved in dealing with my Dad were amazing and thank you.

Review titled Good Hospital
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mrs Ann Oxley - Posted on 16 May 2024
My Mother in law has been an in patient at QA hospital Portsmouth 4 times since Christmas. Her care at all times has been very good and the staff have been exceptional in looking after the patients. I would like to mention in particular G5 the high dependency respiratory ward. The doctors, nurses and COPD specialists take great care with their patients. My mother in law had many tests and a scan to find out the cause of her problems. At each stage the doctors made sure we knew everything about the tests and scan. They take time to make sure the patient or their relatives are kept well informed of their condition and progress. You feel very encouraged by the nursing given at a difficult time for everyone. Lovely people.

Review titled D 5 Ward Outstanding Team and Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 May 2024
I was admitted to D 5 ward for a hip replacement on Wednesday 15th May. From start to finish the whole team were friendly, caring, extremely supportive, very professional and always cheerful. My journey was only possible due to all of you. Surgeon ~ thank you, thank you, thank you, I can’t thank you enough. Anaesthetist ~ thank you for your patience. I struggled so much with anxiety and panic attacks and you were all so kind and caring, you spent time with me and I will be eternally grateful for your care. It really meant a lot and you got me through it. Physio ~ You’re so good at your job, such an ace person. From hip school to discharge, your continued care and continued positivity got me through. Thank you so much. Health Care Support Worker ~ So friendly and very supportive. Your time and care was so much appreciated. You made us all smile over and over again. Your personality is amazing and you are amazing ~ keep being you. Nurses ~ you were all so busy but you always had a smile on your face and was always eager to help and support all of us. Your time for us was never a problem. All of you were amazing. Time and care was never an issue from anyone who cared for me with my surgery. They all provided as much time, care and the attention I needed. They must have been very busy with all of their other patents but I never once felt I was taking up too much of their time. D 5 You’re all a wonderful team, non of you get enough credit for all that you do. You’re all an absolute credit to our wonderful and very over stretched NHS. Thank You one and all.
