  1. Review titled Appalling

Rated 1 star out of 5

My mother was sent from her gp with an emergency letter to be treated asap. She was kept in triage for 4 and half hours until someone came to her to be met with angry nurse on charge because mum wasn’t put in a bed to be moved. The lack of empathy and respect is appalling. She was then discharged awaiting furture appointments instead of dealing with her there and then. This is the most shocking thing I’ve ever witnessed. NHS as gone to pot and I’m shocked at how my mother has been treated. Back home still not well and too scared to make a call to go through the same scenario. shame on you Birmingham QE hospital

  2. Review titled Appointments confusion

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by Sandie Harrison-Wilkes - Posted on 14 September 2024

I am getting all sorts of appointments through the NHS app, but once the date has passed it's still showing the same appointment as coming up?! Today is 14.9.24 so why am I still getting a reminder for an appointment for the 02.9.24?! Please remove dead or cancelled appointments as it's really confusing. Please look into this, as I have a lot 2ww appointments and I don't need the confusion!!

  3. Review titled Disgusted

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was advised in August of 2023 that I had a tumor and was referred to QE hospital ENT dept as experts that had the expertise required to carry out the surgery. I saw the consultant from QE in February 2024 who advised urgent surgery was required by April 2024 and as to date , October 2024 I have not recieved my surgery. They have not contacted me and the only contact I have is when I chase this. I am now resigned to the fact that I am irrelevant to them and doubt that they have the empathy to carry out this surgery required without causing me permanent disfigurement.

  4. Review titled Sad state of affairs

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 August 2024

I was taken in to hospital as I attempted to end my life what really stood out to me was the fact they were putting people in cubicles with no beds just chairs 3 people to a room and because of were I was these people were all not mentally well I was put on a drip in the corner of the room with that bag hanging from a makeshift hook because they didn’t have a drip stand could not sleep as they was playing really loud music at 3 o’clock in the morning and nobody cared I should rightfully still be in there but I lied to the mental health team about how I feel just to get out because I couldn’t spend another night sitting on a chair it’s mentally exhausting

  6. Review titled Great treatment - as always

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Robert Preston - Posted on 01 September 2024

This is the 3rd operation I have had in ambulatory care and again I was more than satisfied. The surgeons doing my finger joint replacement operation had a great rapport, which helped to make me very relaxed and happy during the procedure. The anaesthetist team were also great and helped me understand what was going on and relax. The staff in Bay H were lovely and looked after me really well. Thank you all very much.

  8. Review titled Lifts queuing

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Steve - Posted on 26 August 2024

Only 2 of 5 lifts working to serve patients and visitors for 7x floors, causing very long waiting time. To allow for those who needed lifts more than me I walked up and down 4 floors several times.

  9. Review titled Very good care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tony Collins - Posted on 14 August 2024

My wife underwent spinal surgery by on 25 April 2024. While I was waiting on the bridge between the old and new hospitals an employee stopped to ask if I was OK. She clearly had observed that something was wrong and stopped to find out. After I had explained that I was waiting for my wife to transfer from theatre/recovery to the short stay ward she took me to the entrance to recovery where her boss, who had joined us, went to find out what was happening. Reassured by the information she gathered she then asked her colleague to take me to the restaurant and get me a drink before taking me to the short stay ward. This was an example of someone going caring above and beyond. Thankfully my wife is making a good recovery.

  10. Review titled Neuropathy test

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Diane - Posted on 19 August 2024

The nurse was lovely and pleasant, explained the procedure, the surgeon however, was a little brusk I thought seemed in a hurry to do the test, and didn't smile once, as a retired nurse, I've worked with a lot of doctors, sadly surgeons are still as surly as they always were. A smile costs nothing!!
