My mom was on ward 515 the care and compassion she received was amazing. I can’t thank the doctors, nurses, ambulance crew, and the other staff involved in moms care. You all are amazing and deserve every penny you earn and more. Thank you again

  2. Review titled Visit to A and E

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 December 2022

My 84 year old father who suffers from dementia was admitted to A and E following a possible TIA. We were transferred after a lengthy but expected wait to the Cohort ward which I believe is for people who find the noise and bustle of an emergency department upsetting. We were swiftly seen by a great Dr who explained his plan of action and dad had a CT scan, bloods and an xray before being seen again to discuss result. Whilst there dad was kept comfortable and offered refreshments by a team of paramedics and hospital staff. I was dreading this hospital visit due to current difficulties at hospitals but cannot thank the staff enough for the treatment dad received.

  3. Review titled Excellent Team of People

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ron Hannaford - Posted on 30 December 2022

5 months ago I was diagnosed with a cancer on my lung it was also attached to a rib which it had fractured causing a lot of pain. Since the diagnosis I have been looked after extremely well by team of oncologists, nurses and radiologists. The oncologists are so easy to talk to and they tell you as it is so you know exactly what to expect. The Specilist nurses are simply marvellous, any problem or questions you might have I can ring them 24/7 and they sort out your problem or advise you. I have just finished a 10 day course of radiotherapy on my rib, before starting I was told of the side effects the treatment may course but a bit worried decided to go ahead. The radiology team in room 1 and 2 where I received the treatment were absolutely great, very professional and very kind, they constantly asked if everything was ok before and after. I know that’s what they have to do but they do it really well. Although I have cancer I count myself very lucky having such a great team looking after me and I thank everyone of them. I am writing this review mainly to thank the team looking after me but all the treatment I’ve received from the hospital had been excellent. It’s easy to write negative review if your appointment has changed or you have waited hours to be seen which isn’t nice I agree but when you see what the doctors and nurses have to put up with day in and day out I think they deserve a pat on the back and a positive review more often. I hope the team looking after me get to see the review so they know how greatfull I am.

  4. Review titled Lovely people, warm, human, helpful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jason - Posted on 07 December 2022

Endocrinology outpatients - I was called in and seen at a time when clearly others had been as well, but the wait was minimal, everything was explained exceptionally well (and I needed this despite being perfectly with it!) and a surgeon was even phoned up when on a day off. Everyone was kind and considerate and the professionals seemed to be at the top of their game even in the face of the pressure on every public service at the moment.

  6. Review titled Responsive and Supportive

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 November 2022

I wish that I didn't have to use ophthalmology but I do; I cannot recommend them highly enough. My care started in 2013 and the level of care has remained consistently high, even during the pandemic: I am very grateful. My most recent interaction was with the Contact Lens clinic. I asked if my appt could be done remotely as I'd recently had an optician/optometrist review. My warm and friendly consultant called me and we discussed my ongoing management in depth; she listened to me and we shared decision-making, which is important to people like me with a long-standing need. It's tough for clinicians and patients alike, but this appointment provided everything I could want to support me. Thank you, team, you should all be proud of what you are doing: it is appreciated.

  7. Review titled Superb Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Thain Hatherly - Posted on 10 November 2023

This time last year, I had six heart operations conducted by the amazing surgical team to sort out my complicated heart problems, during a stay of nearly eight weeks. They saved my life. Every staff member I encountered, in the Intensive Care Unit and two other wards, was kind, caring and helpful. I really appreciated their support, skill and dedication. My recovery since discharge has been slow but steady: at first I could hardly walk at all, but now I can walk five miles or so, and I'm aiming at ten. Please pass on, to all who helped transform my life, my heartfelt thanks (no pun intended!).

  10. Review titled Long waiting times in Minor

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 October 2022

So as ex NHS staff I appreciate the pressures in A&E I went to emergency GP first, who then referred me to a&e for a query fracture. I arrived to the QE the entrance wasn’t well sign posted. So, as I am writing this, I am 3hrs waiting, still seen no one, or no X-ray. Appears not enough staff, or facilities, seemed disjointed in patient flow. If you need minor injuries, go somewhere else. I am disappointed in the whole system.
